Dogs going BUGGY!

For some reason this summer the dogs have decided to bark at bugs climbing on the outside of the house.
This started shortly after our Evil Rat arrived.
They would bark at the rat, which was fine...
But now they bark at every bug, shadow or moth that is on the house....
Now I am going Buggy!! :twitch:

Funny you mention that...my dogs are doing the same thing. Plus, the younger one ( 1 year old) loves to chase the lightening bugs

By the way..is it a problem if they actually eat one of the bugs????
you want to have a yorkie, she threatens anything that moves, snails, spiders etc! then she goes and threatens the tortoise!
Lightening bug diet is fine. Icky tasting, but then maybe that's good to dogs. Too many will cause tummy upset and they come back.....wonder if they still flash? Centipedge and scorpion diet could be deadly, so I'd discourage all bug eating, just in case.

Remember,it's the movement that attracts them......something new to keep them amused. Novelty wears off.
We had more fun watching Bailee and our Grandchildren catching Lightening Bugs. I think he got a couple more than the kids did. Bailee tends to give that loud and scarey OES bark when I take him out and we see "new" things he is not familiar with. Things like new trash cans, old pump filters being thrown out. Only at night in the dark and only things he had not previously seen. Even though he is our guy and we have jeard him bark once in a while, the deep bark scares the heck out of me sometimes!
Chauncey is a great dog to take to a picnic....he loves to lay on the patio and swat ants.

Tiggy has been helping the cat to catch blowflies  It hasnt made the cat happy as usually Tiggy is more help to the blowfly's escape.

But yesterday Tiggy managed to catch one 8O She picked her mark well it was a blowfly trapped between the glass and the inside screen door.

I thought the cat eating them was gross but it sure beats cleaning squashed blow fly off the glass and out of the screen. :P
My Aussies catch flies. I find it so amazing that they are so accurate and quick.
With his haircut, Chewie is just now aware that flies even exist! 8O
