I will watch it again when the DVD arrives. |

How violent was it? As bad as Reservoir Dogs????? I plan on seeing it but closing my eyes during certain scenes. |
I didn't see Reservoir Dogs, and I admit I was a bit skeptical about seeing Inglourious Basterds because it was advertised as being very violent.
Don't get me wrong, there were parts where I AND Dale had to turn our heads momentarily, but on the whole, it was nowhere near as violent as I thought it was going to be. The plots kept you interested - there were 2-3 plots going on at the same time. I loved it! And I agree - there WILL be Oscar nominations for this movie. |
Looking forward to seeing that one... |
Well, there's violence and then there's gore.
Was the violence very graphic and gory? |
I loved it too, but Pulp Fiction is still my favorite. That guy who played the Nazi Hans was amazing.
Ron wrote: Well, there's violence and then there's gore.
Was the violence very graphic and gory? It wasn't gory like a slasher movie but there were a few scenes that I had to turn away but I am squeamish in general. The graphic parts were not what I would call gratuitous. Story was very well done. |
Looking forward to seeing this one. My daughter said it was one of the best movies she has seen in a long time. She did say she had to turn her head and look down a bit-- |
The violence was appropriate for the story line, not random or senseless. I had to take a couple of visual breaks as some of the scenes were very realistic. The movie has a different style and amount of violence from Reservoir Dogs.
Tarantino is superb at creating a Femme Fatale character and Shosanna is one of his finest. Colonel Hans Landa has to win supporting actor Oscar. Brad Pitt was good but seemed to be only a catalyst for all the other great performances. Pulp Fiction has always been number one for me, but Basterds moved it to second place. |
Saw this last night, and WOW. It's definitely the best movie I've seen in years. Tremendous acting--the guy who played Landa has to win an Oscar. I think Brad Pitt actually was the weakest actor--he had a few scenes where he was really wooden but saying he was the weakest is really a a compliment in a movie where all the actors were outstanding.
Violent? Yes. I closed my eyes or watched through my fingers during several scenes, and one had me just about jump into my friend's lap. Being a Tarantino movie, it's multi-layered, multi-storied, and full of twists and turns. If you plan on seeing it, see it on the big screen. DVD is fine for a re-watching, but if you're only going to see it once, it has to be at the show. Two thumbs up from me! |
I am really looking forward to seeing this film and will try and go one evening next week. I just love Tarantino. |
We saw it loved it, one of his best yet and anything with Brad in it has to be good too |
I haven't seen it but my son did. He was up this weekend for a visit. He said it was very good. I told him people were rating it close to "Pulp Fiction" and he agreed. May be one I go to see without my Mom. Don't think she'd like it. |
