We live in a townhouse and have a huge backyard...that all the other neighbors have access to. Today when I was walking the dogs, my tomatoes plants look odd. I walked over and some blankity blank had cut them, and taken the parts they cut off and laid them on top of the tomato cages. WTF????? Why would anyone do something so destructive and mean? There was no reason for it!! What a**holes!!! They didn't even take any of the tomatoes, just cut them and left them. Sucks... |

I am sorry...that is just plain mean!!!!! |
Mean or weird, or they were in the middle of nicking your tomatoes and heard you coming and did a bunk. |
Could it have been the gardener with a trimmer and got too close ? Anytime you have a garden in public area you risk those who steal the fruit or just ruin it for others. I remember somebody loosing produce from their fenced !! yard only to find it was little old ladies in the neighborhood who couldn't resist the fresh stuff. The last ones you'd suspect of stealing.
I'm sorry for your tomato loss. It would be very disheartening. |
I am so sorry.
We used to garden, but the dogs got to enjoy the benefits before we did. |
Man I would be so pissed. I plant tomatoes every year and look forward to the fresh tomatoes in my salad and tomatoe sandwiches from my own garden. Who would do that? I agree with you, it is just plain mean... |
I know it wasn't the gardeners. We had our roof replaced Friday and had huddled all of our plants together. We have a ton of tropicals, too. Nothing was distrubed but the tomatoes. And the gardners were here Thursday. Friday night we in the backyard to check the new roof, and the tomatoes were just fine. As much as I hate to think this, we have a neighbor that is a little "off" and she happens to be upset with us (long story). We are sort of suspecting it was her. Tony, being very subtle, took one of the cut pieces and put it on her doorstep. Hmmm...we'll see what happens. This sort of stinks of Fatal Attraction with the dead bunny... |
That's rotten that someone would do that - it has to be the lady who's off. She doesn't even know how to get a tomato off a stem |
Oooooo, heads would roll around here.... |
