I got the best anniversary gift ever!
Now, back to my jumping and squealing... Yesterday was my fourteenth anniversary (21 yrs together), and my gift arrived. I have ALWAYS wanted.... ...a classic muscle car. Yes, mild manner, early years teacher me. And we found one and he's beautiful and the price was fantastic. He still needs paint, and most of his trim is currently in the trunk, and his battery needs replacing (none of this is a big deal), but he has a completely rebuilt 440 engine and there's no rust whatsoever on his body and I am head over heels in love. And, incidentally I named him Sam Winchester (any other rabid Supernatural fans out there?). He's a 1974 Plymouth Roadrunner, and looking at him in the driveway takes my breath away. We're going to work on stuff over the winter, and hope to actually register and drive him in the spring. Right now his engine is so loud the neighbours are making faces, and I intend to tone it down a bit. My mother referred to it as my midlife crisis car, and I'm fine with that. LOL. |

Color (Body and stripe?) Pistol shift? Hood scoop? Hood pins? did it have the 440 originally or was it dropped in? (I have a 360 waiting for the right body to drop into - Barracuda hopefully  ) Don't muffle - HEADERS!!!  Rear end posi?
Who says girls can't be gearheads? Are you planning to drag race it? With posi it should 12.0 or less in the quarter. PICS please! I'm sooooooo jealous. |

I understand you joy. I had one that the oil pump went out on. It is still in my parent's backyard. My nephew is looking forward to rebuilding it. Enjoy, there is nothing like the feel of that kind of power. Even before the pump went out it did not look that impressive. There were a large number of teen boys who thought they were hot stuff, and without trying I saw their shock face in the rear view mirror. I loved it. Try not to get speeding ticket.  |
