We start our TOUCH therapy classes tonight!!! ..and I am so nervous and unsure about Heart becoming a therapy dog.. Is this is something I am pushing on her because I want it so bad??? I guess tonight will give me a better answer~~~ I am sure she will make it known if she is not enjoying it at all. so. please, keep fingers crossed that my sweetie-girl will come through for me and keep my dream alive!!!!! |

don't be nervous.......it will make her nervous. Put your desires in a jar before you leave and treat this with joy and a "new game" for Heart. |
Remember it's the journey, not the destination and the goal should be to do something both you and Heart enjoy. Deep breathes. |
i am sure you both will do well just relax |
I am sure you will both do fine. |
It'll be fun! Have a good time! |
Don't get nervous, just enjoy a new experience |
Remember its just the first class! So no expectations of you or Heart. Just have fun and then see how it pans out over the weeks. |
Enjoy, heart will do well. |
I told you when this little girl was born she was going to be a natural Val. Quit worrying!! Go and have fun!!!!!
Momma Ali and her sis, bro and mom. |
She DID do good..
..almost the best in the class as far as obedience training. We didn't get corrected, and I was asked to show an exercise with a "that's the way it should be done," by the trainer. I really think Rally helped get her in line just with a finger point. I could tell she was anxious..but so was I~~~ But she did not pull toward the door, she seemed with me and (((ALI..>>>>>...))) Just 'watching' all the other dogs... So this week homework and do it again next Thursday for the next 11 weeks!!!! |
I knew you could do it Heart sweetie!
I am sorry your mom keeps obsessing. Here is a hint to score points with the instructor who has a reputation as a Nazi. When you do your homework you need to practice out in "public". So take a field trip to Lowes, Home Depot, Ace Hardware etc. Also you can go to the Farmers Market by me because there are lots of people to pet "a cute doggie". Or try Left Bank Books in the CWE or Cassies. Jo will single you out again for being "smart" about doing homework out in public. |
Yeah Heart
Of course you will be a good therapy dog!! You are the best(Mom too) |
^^^^^^^
GREAT advice Judi!!!! ...........and any other suggestions to keep 'the trainer' 'impressed' with my SKILLS~~~~will be taken taken to HEART !!!! (PUN intended!!!) |
SEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEee I TOLD ya SO!!!!!!!
i knew you and your mom could do it!!!!!! |
Glad to hear that Heart did so well. Phoebe and I volunteer with a hospice group. She did not have to be certified as a therapy dog for this although she did have to have some proof of training and all her shots.
I had to do a lot of stuff, too. She seems to instinctively know what is needed of her and is wonderful at the nursing home. |

This amazes me very time Pearl and I go on a visit. She can pick out the person in the room who 'needs' her the most and just zero in on them!! It may not be the 'client' or patient, it may be the husband, wife or adult child that needs some puppycomfort, but whoever needs her love and acceptance, she is there!!! Bless all of them who do this type of work as they are very special angels!!! I guess that is why I want this so much for Heart. I know what a soft hearted, sweet 'girl' she is and in MY heart, I know she will make a difference in many lives. |
WTG Heart.
Good job both of you. |
Good job!
Have fun making this journey with Heart. |
I'm proud of you & Heart - good job |
