I just had to share that last week I reserved my first OES. I have wanted one since I was about 12 yrs old, now I am in my early 30's, and it's finally going to happen! I have researched, researched, researched, and have finally made the decision that now is a good time for our family to bring in a new little one. The kids are a little more grown up, and I feel like I can handle another "toddler" in the house. I just wanted to say I look forward to sharing my sheepie stories, and I am sure that I will be needing help in the very near future! Smiles, Shannon PS- Chloe' will be here in about 5 weeks. The wait is going to kill me! |

Congratulations Get some sleep now, because when your baby comes you will need it |
Congratulations! There is no better dog in the world than the OES. My husband grew up with a male and 12 years ago we got our Sis. I am completely smitten as you will be too!! |
My only regret is that I didn't get Lola sooner. She was 6 months when we rescued her. Enjoy her puppyhood, it goes so fast! You will LOVE having a sheepie. I can't imagine life without one now... |
Congratulations. I know what you mean about the wait, I was waiting for Jenny this time last year. Enjoy puppyhood because it goes by with a blink of an eye. |
Thanks for all the welcomes!
I will be picking her up from the airport of Thursday, and I will post pictures as soon as I can tear myself away from her! My children are all thrilled and have been counting down the days until we get her. I do have a few questions though. #1- To train your puppy to go to the bathroom outside in one particular area, do you just keep taking them to the same spot, and then when they can eventually go out on their own will they naturally return to the same place? With our 5 kids, I don't want to hosing off to many pairs of shoes!! #2- I stay at home with our kids, but we are all gone one day a week. What do you guys suggest? I thought about having her stay with my mom for the day, but I don't want to inconvenience her to much. Any suggestions? I would be gone from about 8:30 am to 4pm. #3-Can someone please explain to me exactly how to crate train? Thank you, thank you , thank you, and I look forward to sharing my girl with you guys! Shannon |
I'm so excited for you
In regards to toilet training, Bally's always known to use areas far away from where he plays, but I think getting your pup into a routine of going in the same place should work fine. I would strongly suggest having a command for her though like "go potty" or whatever takes your fancy, it' will unbelievably helpful for taking her out on freezing nights and getting back inside ASAP |
