Problems with downloading SKYPE
Some hours later I started the computer again and all my websites played "funny". When I clicked somewhere it just didnt worked anymore! It never happend before! So I decided to uninstall the whole thing and .... everything works fine again!   
I would like to have skype but I'm too worried my laptop wouldnt work anymore and also the connection didnt worked either. Any ideas?? I cant have done anything wrong as I just pressed the button where it says "install". that's it really!!! |

| Hi Monika, before you download skype make the norten inactive then download and install skype, after you have successfully installed skype turn the norton back to active. I had to do this when installing on my computer. Stewart |

| To download many programs, you have to turn off the antivirus software. If left on, the antivirus will often interfere with the new program download - it's like it only lets part of the program download. The new program won't run properly.
It seems like the incomplete program ties up files that many programs normally share. That's why old programs have problems. Uninstall Skype, turn off Norton and reinstall Skype, then turn on Norton. FWIW, we used Norton for years, but switched because it seemed to slow our computers. The computer does run faster with a different antiviris program. |
Which antivirus programm do you've got? We always found norton best, we tried once McAffee and it was rubbish. I havent renewed my norton, it just keeps on running.  it might dissapear totally if I switch it off?? would it?? !!  |
| I use Avast. If you're just usung it on a home computer you can download it for free. You only need to subscribe if you are using it commercially. I've used it for about 5 years and never had any problems with viruses .....famous last words! |
