When I uploaded it, the private option said "share with up to 25 people" or some such. Yet when I send the URL to family, they say they can't see it, it's private. HELP! |

I've had that same problem. I think that 25 people or whatever are for YOUTUBE MEMBERS. .........so you have to make it public, let them view it and tell them it will no longer be there for viewing after today or whatever. That's what I have to do at least. Then set back on private. |
I think you're pretty much spot on. If I want to share it with my family, they all need to be in a list I create of YouTube members, and I can then either share to the list or up to 25 individual members of the list.
How silly is that??? Like I'm going to sign up my dad and/or ask my 3rd left cousin for his YouTube member name so I can send them a link to a video? pfffffft. Riiiiight. They need to have an option where they don't include the Video in their index and mark the page as "noindex" for Google and other search engines. I guess I'll just d/l the mp4 it created from my 1.2GB HD video and put that up in a hidden directory here for my relatives... Or do as Joahaeyo suggests and make it public for a couple of days then delete it. |
I have the same pffft... about them. I hate that I can't show them my video w/o making it public (was a video of a medical problem we thought our son had). Thankfully I kept an eye on it all day and only saw a few extra hits on my video plus the number I expected from family (give or take a few extras from me and others watching it again). I just put it on no comments allowed. |
Photobucket is much easier to share privately than YouTube. You might consider that. |
