What a little witch!!! I will NEVER complain about Tiggy's dislike for leg and foot grooming again. Tiggy just pulls away or sits on her feet. Mum's mini poodle squealed in my ear (I think I'm deaf in one ear), growled, snarled and snapped whenever I even touched her leg with a brush. There was NO way it was hurting her. Even if I tried to snip a mat off with the scissors she carried on like I was cutting her leg off. It was a two woman job but apparently she's just as bad at the groomers so at least I know it wasnt me. Mum is really happy with how she looks. I keep seeing all the bits I could have done better. Before: "Nooooo, dont make do it. I dont want to!!" After: "Is it over? Can I go now?" You can still see where she had her front legs shaved for the drips at the vets but its more blended in now. My Mum HATES to have her photo taken so she hid behind Charlie. Overall I'm kinda happy with how she turned out, seeing as I'd never clipped a dog before. And my Mum is a pensioner so I saved her the cost of grooming. And the groomer always just shaved her off because she said there were too many matts so she couldnt leave her long, and Mum hates how she looks clipped off really short. Looks like I've got a new part time job - "poodle groomer" |

Mim! Very nice!
Cute poodle. Kristine |
Great job, Mim! I'd never want to be a poodle groomer, either. My in-laws had a few mini poodles, and they were ALL nasty little creatures. If I ever had to groom them, I would definitely have used a muzzle because I'm sure I'd have gotten bitten. You are a brave woman! |
very cute - and she looks just like my kids poodle when they were growing up - |
Awww very cute |
GOOD JOB!!!!!!!!! My maltese was the same way around the legs. Would act like she was going to snip (wouldn't dare actually put her mouth on me though but probably would if it was someone else). |
Not bad. You did a good job! |

Mum was horrified, she did put her teeth on my hand. It looked bad, as it was a big snap. But it didnt hurt or break the skin so she wasnt serious. I just growled at her and Mum took a firm grip of her muzzle, so that was the end of that nonsense. Charlie has forgiven me for being the mean groomer as she got three walks and I let her sleep on the bed with me as she was all clean and pretty. Now she'll be back in her kennel. |
Good trim Mim. |
Good job.......and get a little muzzle for future work. If you continue the little beast will learn who is the grooming master.....you, not her.
Remember, Cesar Milan started as the groomer to beasts. (wonder how many scars he has on his hands and arms..?) |
Good job. She looks much neater and cleaner
They are not my favorite dogs, but hey, there's a breed out there for everyone! |
They're not my favorite either!!
But I bought her for my Mum's birthday as she was dead set on a poodle, partly due to no hair on her furniture etc. And now she is Mum's little princess! Which is great for both of them. I must say in her defence, she is a loving little thing, just bossy (spoilt ) and hates to be groomed, but apparently that's common in poodles. Mum did say maybe she should be muzzled. So I just might get one for the next beauty spa day. |
