Poor baby! I had never realized how dependent they become on other dogs till we got Wendel. When Wendel was at the vet for his neuter, Asterisk was so heart broken. When I came home for lunch that day, she just stared at me with those big brown eyes. She didn't hug me, or kiss me. She just went outside, did her business and then she just moped on the floor.
Wendel was only gone a day. I can't imagine how she would cope without having him for an entire week. Give your baby a lot of extra love. |
I know!! They LOVE so hard then they are heartbroken I just feel horrible for her... I wish I could tell her that she is coming back... she is just pitiful really |

Mine too. Maybe it's different when you only have a couple. Kristine |
Poor thing.
I am glad I have been putting Langley in daycare and Laika comes to work with me. That way they won't be so heartbroken like that when apart. Eventually I will bring Langley to work. |

What a great idea and I will!! My daughter says she thinks the baby misses Holly as well! But I do have to say that Holly is more mellow and more well behaved since she has been gone |
Poor puppy. They sure get attached.
We took a day trip yesterday, and separated our two, thinking it would be easier on everyone. Evil Hudson stayed with my inlaws (and my MIL is currently in the ER, but claims it's not Hudson related). Portage stayed home alone, and his favourite aunt came three times during the day, staying for at least an hour each time. We were gone about twelve hours but his food and out schedule were kept on track. Apparently he was hysterical all day. He was crying and panting when we got home. It broke my heart. I tried to comfort him while my hubby went to get Hudson from his parents' house. When Hudson came home, Portage RAN to him (I had no idea he even liked him) and immediately calmed down. Hudson wagged his bum at Portage and then bit his ear. Portage gave him a stern snap and they both went happily off to bed. Brothers! |
