If ANYONE has ANY ideas...(Darcy??? and others) please, I need suggestions::::: We are moving our restaurant about 1/2 mile from where it is now into a newer 3 stall strip. We are the Center stall. For reasons I won't get into now, this is a neccessary and urgent move, located right off the highway, but there are some 'problems' with the way the store has been built. #1...As soon as you walk in the door, about 5 steps there is a supporting beam in the middle..I just don't know what to do with it??? ~~~~~String lights on it???? ~~~~ Make it an autograph pole??? ~~~????? ~~~just put our specials on it??? (there is not enough space to put large floor plants around it, or to attach anything to it) #2...and this is the most important one!!! The Restaurtant serves Italian pizza/sandwiches/salads and is a franchise so there are certain guidelines we have to adhere to..one being the color scheme of RED...WHITE...GREEN... Dino had the walls painted what was suppose to be a creamy off white but it turned out to be more yellow~~~~~ . It is way too late to repaint, not to mention the extra cost involved, so I need to know...Since will be buying vinyl (msp) table cloths for the tables...How to tone the yellow down using either RED or GREEN???? Does any one know which color will help???? The approved green is more of a hunter green, the red is more true red. I have been trying to visualize the red against the yellow as opposed to the green against the yellow..neither of them seem to tone it down in my mind.... Just to finish the mental picture...we have a small dining area, about 6 tables, the counter is RED..the floor is concrete, will be stained a brown sealed, the base boards and bathroom doors, wood. ANYONE ...????? ideas?????..........there is a fREE pizza in it for anyone with suggestions!!!!!! Thanks in advance!!!!!!!!! |

Do you have some pictures you could post? |
Since I'm terrible with stuff like that, my only suggestion is to post pics when it's all done.
do I still qualify for the free pizza? |
I got a few on my cell, but the color of the walls didn't turn out...i need to go back and try from my digital.... |
Posting pictures would definately help out. Also defining what type of feel you want your diners to have when coming into your restaurant will be helpful to you when pulling it all together. Do you want it to be a warm, homey feeling? Or would you prefer an exciting, energetic feeling? |
A color consultant gave me a great tip years ago.
Every colour has a either a warm or a cool base. So if the yellow has a warm base it has more ochres in the mix and if it has a cool base it has more green (I think) in the mix. Think warm yellow, buttercup kinda color even if its pale or cool yellow more lemon tones. To tone down a cool color you put the green with it and red with the warm, the other way, the contrast in tones makes them more obvious. Good luck. |
val, i need pictures!
the creamy yellowish color should be okay with the red and green.... i need to see a pic of the beam area that youre talking about..... |
I will be taking pictures tomorrow and post them in the afternoon. We will get this put together with your help!!!! Thanks...!!!!! |
What is going on the walls? Are there certain guidelines you have to follow?
FWIW, I've been told that reds encourage eating. One of the reasons it is popular in dining rooms. |
I could imgine that with the yellow walls the green tablecloth will calm down a bit more than the red, i think. I agree with everyone, it would be easier to see some pictures. At the moment I think red and yellow might look too much like a "Carneval/Clown", on the post I would put glue some fake green plants around it so it would fit with the green tables. You know, a bit in a "country style-ish" if you know what I mean? it also fits to Italy and the pizza. The food you serve and the style of the restaurant got to match, but watch out not to put too much clutter in it! Sometimes its good to do less than too much! Important: clean, clutterfree and stylish!!!
You have to imagine that if you would walk in first time as a guest, would you want to come back??? That's how it should look like! If it's stunning, a guest would just come back for the interior!! and the warmth feeling! (ofcourse the food too!) |
The Support Beam, hang a chalk board on it and post the specials or what ever moves you.... large chalk board. |
I got pictures of the new restaurant, just waiting for approval so I can post them. |
I certainly don't have any decorating tips but, I like
pizza....do you deliver??? |
YES!!!! ACTUALLY, We DO delivery across the country....LOL....this franchise has many, many displaced St. Louisans in many other states that miss the pizza they grew up on..so we DO ship...coast to coast!!!!
(((but not for the next 2 weeks!!!))) |
I will be waiitng for that update...I love my Pizza!
We started going downtown to I Love NY Pizza every weekend for Momma's slice of Pizza!!!(Pooh too) We have both been so crazy busy no time for our trips downtown Pooh and I would be thrilled to have yummy pizza at the door!!! I am assuming the clor on the cups are what you are working with |
Yes...those are the colors!!!!! and all my puppers love pizza TOO!!!!! |
I would vote for the red on the tables. (If a choice only between red and green). Too, me, it's just more appetizing than a green tabletop!
Can the tables be a natural color? - like the rest of the woodwork? How close to the red counter will the tables be? - another concern, as reds are hard to match, and if they come a different shade of red, might not be a good thing. I like the post - a blackboard would be good (or blackboard paint on the upper part to write on), or decorated with a store logo or message would be nice. A "welcome" on the door side, and a "thanks" on the back side as people go out? I like the yellow. It looks buttery and soft. |
HoorayIII I have internet again!
Val, I say go to the local hobby lobby story thingy and get stencils of vinyard grapes and leaves. Stencil some of them to give a homey look. Also put up some trellis from Home Depot on the roof and hang fake vine leaves on it............. maybe even a few fake grape stems! Stencil the vine up the pole............. woo hoo i want my STL pizza in San Miguel!!!! lol Bessos! Ali |
