My question is about my other OES Stella...do i let her smell him after he has died or keep her away from the whole procedure? It's just one of the million things racing through my head as a ever growing hole in my heart develops. Any quick advice would be appreciated. Thank you Jeff |

I am so sorry for you. I have been told your instinct to let her smell him is correct and will help her have some closure. I know it won't help you though. Nice vet to come out and do that for you and your dog . |
I am so sorry.
Our Ollie died at home, and our 2 labs were PTS at the vets. I know my dogs did better with Ollie than with Macy and Tater. They still go looking for them in their kennel run - and it was in December. |
we have done it both ways and it didnt seem to make much difference. Thinking of you...x |
Since I have only had one dog at a time this has never been an issue for me, but I have had to put down two sheepies in the past. It is never easy, sorry you have to go through this, thinking of you. |
I can't add anything, but I wanted to let you know I am so sorry.
We are sending your way. |
I am so sorry to hear this. My thoughts are with you at this devastating time. I have read that it's a good idea to let your other dog participate in the process. Somehow they understand death on an animal level. But ultimately it's your call and whatever you decide, I am sure it will be the right decision.
My heart aches for you. |
Yes. Some dogs understand, others don't. It may help with the "empty nest" problems.
I'm sorry this has happened to you. |
I don't know the answer to your question but I wanted to let you know how sorry I am that you are going through this tough time. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. |
So sorry about your sad news.
Thinking of you. |
