Golden's are usually very tolerant of kids and puppies.
Does you Golden have previous exposure to puppies? Other dogs? How did it work out then> What was going when the puppy was bit? If the puppy was jumping on the dog, maybe your dog has a sore area that the puppy hit. Was skin broken? My dogs, including a Golden, tolerate so much from the puppy, eventually drawing the line. Growling, barking, snapping, mouthing are all things they have done to set boundaries with the puppy. How they respond depends on the puppies ability to understand dog signals. Perhaps a vet visit for your dog to rule out pain or disease. |
