for females(human) manicure question
well lately I really want to have it done again. is this crazy or what. no one will see it but me. I guess its a female thing. Just wanting to feel better about me.. just better put together A few weeks ago I had my hair cut in a different style, and love it. that was a great pick me up. could not blow dry it well with my arm the old way. my question is what would you do???? waste of money??? |

| I have been getting a manicure, with overlays, since 1988. Every 2-3 weeks, though there are times I wil stretch it a bit if I am painting or cleaning. I do it for me. I also do a pedicure every so often. |

| I have been getting manis and peddis for the last 7 years...
I love it!!! for $50.00 every 3-4 weeks...it is worth it to get a little pampering!!! I especially love the peddie chairs with the massages rollers!!! I really can't afford to got to the actual spas more than 2 x a year so this is the next best thing!!!! And I love the french mani's!!!!!!  ..

| nothing wrong with a nice mani! it's a great pick-me-up and quite relaxing if i do say so. i'd do it! go for the pedicure too. they aren't all that expensive and feel so wonderful after. and so wonderful about how they look! |

| JUST DO IT! It will make you feel great! I had stopped getting my done because my manicurist started charging $25 for a mani and $42 for a pedi. I thought that was outragious (and I couldn't afford it). Then I found a little shop that still charges $12 and $25. I like to go have my nails done every week (if time allows) because when I lead my meetings, I know people are looking at my hands. I just wish the polish lasted longer/better. JUST DO IT! |
| I have acrylic overlays french manicure style every three weeks, I just look forward to it, a bit of me time. I couldn't care less if no one could see it - I love my nails. I know I'd feel pretty low if my nails weren't done.
I bet you feel great when its all done and you look at your hands and think they look fab !! Do whatever makes YOU happy  |

| I would definitely do it, but that doesn't mean you have to keep up with it esp. if you're worried about cost (not sure I understood by your last reply).
I have always loved the way I looked, and it was "just for me." 
But, at the same time... it was a waste of money too considering how much I had to go. Really depends on where you want to spend your money. If I didn't want to spend my extra "girl" fund each month on other things then I would love to have my nails done occasionally. I clean and cook too much so find them in the way combined with the fact they make my nails thinner and irritable (despite making many other girls nails stronger). |

Trying to do them only once a month won't be often enough. They will loosen on the nail and possibly allow water to get between the real nail and the overlay. This lets fungi start to grow. The place I go has a special on Monday and Tuesdays - fills for 15 bucks. I can get by with a pedicure once a month. They really aren't something that you want to take off too quickly. They grind off the top layer of the nail to attach the acrylic, which makes it more prone to breakage if you don't put the acrylic on. |

I DID IT LAST NIGHT AT WALMAR (not the cleanest place not returning there) HAD THEM DONE ACTIVE LENGTH FOR THE FIRST TIME BACK . NO FRENCH JUST CLEAR I WILL DO THE FRENCH NEXT TIME. A BIG THAKS TO ALL I FEEL MUCH BETTER ABOUT ME!!!!!!! |
