Welcome to the forum.
I recently had my sheepie neutered because he had a yellow discharge. Its made no difference to his personality at all. Hes gained a little bit of weight but he could afford to. I didn't want to show him and I wouldn't breed with him so neutering him wasn't an issue. I think in the UK we are less inclined to neuter our pets than other countries are. |
all my males have been fixed.
unless you are showing him then I think its better for health reasons. I am sure others can help more. welcome and good luck! |
I am in the UK also
Archie was neutered just after he was one year old, we have not noticed any ill effects, he is a little less humpy although he still has his moments especially with a certain Rosie a black lab bitch he likes He is a really lovely almost two year old, Maybe ask your vet, Saying that if you weren't to get the procedure carried out there would they still recommend it? You'll probably get as many opinions for as against on here *** site staff maybe this should be moved to the medical forum? |
welcome to the forum from another UKer! Where are the photos of your sheepie, please? Summer is 2 and has not been spayed yet, money really, that and hubby seems to think its not a problem. I think you should have an informal chat with your vet really... |
I posted to this thread yesterday and its gone - how odd! Anyway.....again.....welcome from another Karen in Norfolk! I only have girls so I can't comment on the neutering issues but my girls are both spayed. Our last sheepie Daisy had problems with mammary tumours and pyometra which she wouldn't have had if she's been spayed so I personally would recommend it.
Whereabouts in Norfolk are you - close enough for a playdate? |
Welcome from Tennessee! Beautiful place to have a vacation home! |
