food in uk

Hi I just wondered if those folks from the UK could recommend a food. My 4 year old boy is currently on Pets at Home brand dry food and while he has had no problem with it I was thinking of switching him to a higher quality food. So, firstly does anyone have any thoughts on Pets at Home brand and secondly what other food would you suggest. I had thought of James Well Beloved or Royal Canin but would be open to suggestions. TIA!

Summer is on arden grange, but last few weeks to make it go a bit further I have put in a quarter chum dry complete food. I have heard pets at home is supposed to be good, but I dont know. James Wellbeloved is another good one. You need to research what is in them really as a lot of them contain lots of rubbishy stuff. I have got my little yorkie on Hills and some Bakers lite as she is getting a bit tubby. Sometimes, not every time, after eating the Bakers she is hyper, much more than usual. So I am going to see if arden grange do a lite food,

On subject of arden grange if you go on their website, you can email someone called "Ness" say what dog you have, age etc, and ask if she can suggest one of their foods and perhaps send samples. She is fab with advice and samples. Sorry am rambling now
James Welbeloved is a popular brand, I think Archie (Archie's Slave) is on that. Rufus is on Purina Pro Plan Athletic. The Athletic variety is not available at Pets At Home, we order ours online searching for the cheapest deal every 2-3 months. We order 2x 15KG bags each time.
I have used pets at home own brand wet food for a while now.

My vet recommended their range because it has no artifical colours or flavourings so doesn't make dogs hyper.

George can't eat some of the branded products as they are too rich for him and upset his stomach.
Yes Archie is on James Wellbeloved it seems to have helped reduce the amount of waxy skin flakes he had in his coat that he was getting with Purina Pro Plan and the fact that I can source it locally helps, internet pet food deliveries can be quite unreliable we have found so it is good to be able to fill in any delivery gaps by buying locally even if it is a lot more expensive.

He produces consistantly firmer stools than he did on the Purina (occasionally poo soup - pardon the expression on the purina)
I had the girls on James wellbeloved too.... fish & rice... But I have just changed them to wainrights.. they love it!!! sheepies are so fussy!!!
