Is that even an option? If so, what blade should I use? I'm going to be investing in either an Andis AGRC or Oster A5 soon, as I have accumulated enough woolly dogs at this point to make it a necessity. I know they usually come with a #10 blade, right? Or no? Sorry - This is new territory for me. Any input from the super sheepie groomers here gratefully appreciated |

the longest combs i have found are 1" they fit onto a #10 blade or lower. i have heard there are longer guard combs but i havent been able to find any so far.
so i would have to suggest hand scissoring for a 2" coat |
I always scissor my clients sheepies that like 2" or more you will get a much better finish afterwards.
There is an attachment comb that is 2" by Andis sold seperatly rather than the packs but I find you still need to go over it with scissors otherwise it can look a bit un-even so I think its faster using just the scissors I use 9" ones. I use the 2 speed andis clippers (red ones) and I really like these I find there much better than the Oster, if your going to use attachment combs then a 15 blade is better than a 10 this is what I use when using this method on drop coats. |
