Show Me's Harrington RE NF I didn't get any pictures from today but here is the picture after he qualified for his second leg last month: Something kind of funny happened in the ring today. Usually I am more aware of where Harry will struggle in regards to his impulse control issues. I know he gets very excited over the first jump and doesn't actually wait for the command as we approach. I didn't think it would be a problem as it was the second station - except I didn't take into consideration that Harry isn't aware of the signs and from the Start it was the first thing he saw. So there he was at the Start sitting so nicely. I say "Harry heel" and he starts rushing toward the jump. He was seconds from going over the jump when it registers to him that I have called him back to me. He did come back and did a very nice stand/stay on the Moving Stand -Walk Around Dog. THEN he got to go over the jump BUT this time he waited for the command before going over - something he wasn't initially going to do when he thought it was the first station. Next time I hope I remember to see the course from Harry's point of view. |
