When we go on walks, he will zig and zag around puddles, rocks, and dirt. When it's wet outside, he will poo on the cement and very gingerly walk on the grass. He doesn't like the sprinkler, pools, bathtubs, or rain. I turned on the sprinkler thinking that he may enjoy it, Asterisk went wild and was bouncing and zooming through the sprinkler. Wendel looked up at me as though to say "are you serious? me get wet?" and then he very stealth-fully walked out of his way to avoid all water-droplets and plopped down right by the screen door to be let in. He does love grooming though. I can groom him to sleep. If I pat the grooming table he'll hop on and immediately get comfortable. I can even groom him while watching tv in the living room. I'm used to Asterisk's behavior, since I've had her since she was 8 weeks old. She loves to get dirty. She'll find the one and only mud puddle and stick her snout and all four feet into it. She loves to get wet. She'll demand to race outside if it's raining to catch the rain drops. She loves swimming, the bathtub, dirt, rolling in the grass and getting grass stains. On walks she'll hit every single puddle. |

boy have you got it good. Snow heads for all the dirt, mud water ect and like to be dirty. Tthe other 2 were ok when we got them till she taught them what fun mud can be!!! |
it sounds like Wendel wants to be CLEAN all times!! ... which is something very good! He wants to look great I suppose! You should be really proud of him!!
Charlie instead loves to get dirty which can be a pain when cleaning up after!! |
Wendell is an urban boy where as **** is a country girl. Green Acres sheepdog style. |
I had two girls like that 30 years ago.
Maude was the inspiration for Pigpen from Snoopy - the cloud of dust followed her everywhere, starting 5 minutes after her bath. And she loved water - sprinkler, hose, pool, bath, waterbowl. Mandy could go out in the rain and come back in looking pristine. She loved baths, not the pool. |
I think you are lucky Wendall doesn't like to be dirty.
I have the opposite George doesn't like being clean |
Yuki is the same way!!! Definitely a blessing! I hate dogs that like to get dirty ..........now that we have one  I wish all dogs knew dirt or chilling in the rain would get their moms mad. |
can wendel come and visit and have a little talk with katie?
you lucky dog!! |
My Dancer doodle hates to get dirty, if it's raining she'll hold it as long as possible and then tentatively touch the ground and look at me like "eeeww gross, YOU try it" |
Laika avoids puddles as well. She is a princess for sure. |
Kody will find anything and everything to get himself dirty...including rolling around on the freshly mowed lawn...I swear when he gets done he looks like a large furry leprechaun . I now try to keep the "Homemade Doggy Door" closed along with the regular door for at least an hour after mowing. Yes, I said "Homemade Doggy Door"!!! Kody has went through the full length screen door 4 times, not sure if he forgets it's a barrier or if he just thinks it has no need to be there! |
living in fla when it rains my boys beg to go out and get snady and dirty you are so lucky |
^^
ugh... when i see a cloud in the sky, i immediately take mequpak outside b/c he'll pull a fake one on us the second he sees rain. You know, wimper ...scratch at the door, potty dance, etc ...anything to get outside. Drives me insane b/c I feel like a big dummy when we do let him out in the rain, and he doesn't go, but I DO have a wet dog!!! |
Nope, mine run for cover with rain, but afterwards, puddles are for splashing!!
I'm about ready to go face the front hall. Rain = mud which has now dried and surely a cup or more of dirt awaits the broom and mop. If I still have the energy I'll feed the vacuum it's dirt and hair diet. What did the vacuum eat before the dogs took up permanent residence in the house? |
