We arrived safe in Munich after a very long 23 hour drive with hardly any breaks, apart from a visit to Cassie and Rufus!! LOL - which was VERY nice!! Thanx Cassie!!! xxx We boarded the ferry at 6pm and arrived in France at 9pm. Then we started driving towards Germany. I first tried to make a break around 12ish and we wanted to have a rest. The moment the car stopped (Charlie was sleeping all the way until then....!) Charlie woke up and started to look around. That means we TRIED to sleep while Charlie was BREATHING! It sounds maybe funny, but when you are really tired every noise stops you from sleeping and that noise was Charlie's heavy breathing! .... also, with every breath in, breath out ... the car shaked!! It's not a joke!! The car shaked forwards and backwards with every breath!! So, after 30 minutes our "Rest" was finished and we carried on driving until around 3 am! ... and we tried the same again! We managed it to 2hrs. But same game, Charlie woke up once we stopped the car and she started heavy breathing, looking around and the car shaked!! It was funny when Max shouted at Charlie and said "Charlie, stop breathing, I cant sleep!" Well, we finally arrived around 1pm in Munich at our new place. I was SHATTERED!!! In the last 3 weeks we only run around in shorts and t-shirt as it is so hot here, around 30C! We are not used to this weather in UK! LOL We still get sometimes dizzy and sick because of the heat! But we do love the lakes and outdoor pools to go swimming in! Charlie settled in fine, apart from the horrible insects sticking in her body drinking blood from her. She loves the garden as it is 3x bigger than before and all the people are nice! I met my old friends I know since 33!! years and its strange to talk "normal" in bavarian but I still got a mix of bavarian/german/english until I get used to everything! Jobs are looking ok, Max got his 2nd interview on 31. for the traindriver apprentice and I had my 2nd interview and need to go monday to the health check! Everything seems to get together slowly! Oh yeah, I had to scrap my car as it was starting to get rusty underneath and I needed a new Kat and breaks. It would have cost me around Euro's 800 which was too expensive to repair an 10 year old car, so I had to scrap it (which was Euros 200!!) Pictures follow when I've got a new digital camera!! Glad to be back again!! Greetings to everyone I met on the Sheepie Day and also to VAL!! |

Good to see you arrived safe and sound.
P.S. change your location in your profile |
Glad to hear you arrived safely after your marathon journey! I know what you mean about the breathing! Its bad enough enough in our bedroom with 2 sheepies breathing hard when its hot but in the close confines of a car....... |
It is great to hear you arrived safe and sound. I was thinking about you the other day, wondering if you had made it to Germany ok.
I know how your feel regarding your trip..we just made a trip from Floiida to Michigan, which turned out to be 24 hrs...we did stop for two hours at a rest stop, but didn't get much sleep do to hubby snoring...not quite a sheepy breathing but still hard to get a wink of sleep. Then after three days headed back home, basically the same experience with one additional person on board. (granddaughter). BEst of luck to you with your jobs and your new home. |
Glad you made it safe and sound and all still breathing. |
Glad you arrived safe and sound--sounds like it was adventure! |

Yaaay! We are so happy that you arrived safely and you are back online!!!
Here are some pics from your visit, sorry they have a rainbow on them, my phone camera is difficult in the sun. I love the one of Ru & Charlie kissing, they licked eachother's noses for ages |
It looks like a fun visit.
I understand about the heavy breathing - Chewie does it too! And, daughter LeAnne yells the same as Max - "Chewie, stop breathing!" LOL |
Cassie the photos are lovely. The rainbow makes them look special, as if someone is looking after Monika, if you notice it is only on Monika and family..xx |
