After that is PT. he says I will never get full use, but close. i have lost alot of strenth in it and need to build it up now In emerengcy she thought there was fluid in the socket. Dr says that could have been but by moving it I could have worked it out.' So all in all I need to work through the pain to get my arm better. I am happy with NO surgery. |

I'm glad you don't have to have surgery either! Sounds like mostly good news as long as you can build some muscles to help you get better.
Now here's some good luck dust coming your way in hopes you don't have any more bad luck this year!!! |
It's awful that you've had to go through all this just to go through it some more Good for you for firing the first doctor.......I don't think there is anything in the world more frustrating than feeling awful and getting no help from the person who's getting paid to help you.
Hurray for no surgery! Sheepie hugs and kisses from Loki - Here's hoping you'll be better soon and we can come see you. |
Are you happy with your PT? A good PT will push you as far as you can go. The exercises will build up your strength, but the stretching is what will get you the range of motion - and they are uncomfortable.
Can someone drive you to PT? I took a pain pill 30 minutes before PT, so it peaked when they did the stretching. It really helped me get through it. Always get a heat pack at the beginning and finish with an ice pack. I used my continuous ice water pad every chance I could get - it kept the inflammation down and I needed less pain medication (I have over 60 pills left from last summer, they are wonderful for my sinus headaches). I finished PT in December, but I still have daily stretching to do. It is still getting better, slowly, but I am very happy that I have almost complete range of motion. |
Glad you got good news.
Work hard in PT. This is a case where "no pain - no gain" is true. After my horse accident shoulder dislocation, I kept repeating that to myself...... |

Not until he sees the ct scan ( thats tomarrow) Yes i know that "no pain no gain" and i don't mind. What the heck I have had lots of pain for 7 weeks. At least I know its because I am getting better. Thanks for your info! |
Yeah, I was so happy to be able to swim again, especially the back stroke. One armed you tend to go in circles I won't tell you how long it took to get full rotation back. I was getting very tired of breast stroke! Even now it is a weakling, every wanting to "tear" or "strain" with the slightest over-do. Then again, maybe that's age.......
Do the PT......it will work, eventually. |
So glad that you got fairly good news! At least you are in process of getting the right answers. Good luck with the test tomorrow. |
