What do YOU feed your sheepie?

Just wondering... I feed my boy Nutro Natural Choice Lamb & Rice. I hear all this talk about making your own food and how much better it is for the dogs. Does anyone make their own food? If so, whats a good recipe?

I rotate foods (dry) and the Nutro lamb and rice is one mine do very well on.

We are using Fromm's Adult right now.
We feed Blue Buffalo Longevity Lamb & Brown Rice formula. It's the only one that has consistently done well for our Shar Pei. Katie was on Fromm's but it just didn't agree with her stomach. :( She seems to be doing great on the Blue Buffalo.
I feed raw and make my own mix (well until I get lazy then I buy a dehydrated mix to use with the ground meat)
Pro Plan Lamb and rice. was told by breeder thats what she has used for years and all my dogs have done very well on it!
Holly has a sensitive stomach and I have tried a few different foods and the one that seems to be the winner is CHICKEN AND RICE made by EXCLUSIVE. Holly LOVES it and she seems to maintain her weight with out the diarrhea. Folks we have a WINNER :D Plus every 6th bag you get a FREE one , Yeah :cheer:
I feed a raw meat and veg mix .
I used to use kibble but every one i tried had a nasty effect on Marleys stomach which made him lose weight. :(
one is on Fromm's surf and turf, the other on California Natural salmon blend.
Kirkland Chicken & Rice. Great stuff!
We use Wolfking large breed formula. It has bison, brown rice, and assorted vegetables and fruits.
We use Acana all my dogs love it. Also big bited t/d science diet for treats. They love this they would over eat this if I let them.
I rotate food too, 3/4 natural or raw and kibble used as a filler, swap between pro-plan and Eagle pack hololistic.
We did Pro Plan Turkey and Barley for most of Portage and Theep's lives. Then, suddenly, Portage had a rough time with it. Whenever we'd put him back on it he'd get sick and lose more weight. We nearly lost him. He tolerated boiled hamburger and rice but kept losing. Our ninety plus pound buy bottomed out at sixty four pounds. On his huge frame I cannot describe how that looked. You would have thought he belonged in an anti animal cruelty ad. People even challenged us about his condition when we went on walks.

We now buy a gastric diet (dry) from the vet and he'd doing wonderfully. He gets wheat free treats (had allergies much of his life) and raw veggies. I haven't weighed him in a while, but he had gained about twelve pounds last we checked. I guess we're due for a ride to the vet for a weigh in. It's actually been a while. That has to be a good sign. At one point we were there every three or four days. It's now easily been a month or more...and only two phone calls (not counting prescription renewals). I guess I went a little off topic there.

We switch back and forth between the Lamb & Rice and Chicken and rice. It can't be too bad, my last Golden lived to 14.

kirklands chicken and rice but having thoughts about a raw diet
Mine eat Canidae All Life Stages.
We just switched from Smart Pak's Chicken and Brown Rice to Kirkland's Chicken and Rice from Costco. Love it!!!!

Smart Pak was good also, but we were needing to cut back a bit on costs and actually the Kirkland's brand is rated really well. :)
Dodger gets Wolf King Buffalo Gold, Large Breed.

He had been on Chicken Soup for the Dog's Soul, but his gas was sooooo bad, we had to change. He's been eating the Buffalo Gold for a while now, and it seems to be great!
We mix Taste of the Wild - salmon/ sweet potatoe blend with Solid Gold Milenimum Beef & Barley. We have food allergies (lamb, chicken, and rice). When I started to add the beef and barley it helped with some of the gas issues. We also adding in raw green beans and carrots.
Just this week I switched my girls to Jutro Ultra Holistic. So far so good, no upset tummies. China, my Aussie, really likes this kibble. She usually leaves some kibble on her plate, but not anymore.

I spent quite a while at the store trying to make a decision as to which food was going to do best for my girls....I did see a brand named CORE and they told mem it is for people who want to do "Raw" feeding. So those interested in "Raw" feeding there is a good out there.
Tast of The Wild salmon and sweet potatoe
