Hi and welcome. How old is Baxter and if older is he a rescue ect.?? need more info please.
I posted this on one of the other threads, but, our Bailee (now 10 months) was barking at us at about 4 to 5 months of age. Our Trainer suggested putting a few coins in a can and shaking it whenever he did the unwanted behavior. It worked like a charm. :D Just be careful not to overdue it. Just a shake or 2 is all it took for us. Good Luck
:D Baxter is 3 mos old
maybe he want to go outside to the toilet that's what ours did at that age.
Tinker does the same thing to us! She is about 7 months old now. She especially does this to my husband. Almost like she is sassing him.

Not exactly sure what it all means, but just wanted to let you know you weren't alone! They sure are a fascinating breed, aren't they?!

:)
when my dogs did this (as puppies) they either needed a walk or were over excited. My reaction was to always take them out to pee and then put them in the crate. 90 percent of the time the cause was overstimulation. when they get older it translates into the bump and run
Asterisk is a year old now and will still do this. We have figured out that when she barks in our face that she wants to play. We'll let her outside with Wendel and they will wrestle (Wendel refuses to play indoors).

We found that taking her for a nice long walk will curb this behavior. But also be aware, your baby may be trying to tell you that a potty break is in order too.
Our Baxter did that as well, and every now and then when he REALLY craves attention, he'll just start a persistent barking, which we ignore totally. He has learnt other behaviours for when he's wanting a loo break or anything - the barking is generally because he's bored and wants more attention than we're giving him at the time.... Our Bax is now 10 mths old and he has definitely quietened down on the barking front. We just rewarded his positive behaviours and basically ignored the barking - noisy and annoying but not impossible ! It was also good to be able to discern what type of barking he was indulging in as well.... Baxter's "give me attention now" bark is a little deeper and more persistent than the little shrill yelpie bark when he wants to play... Of course all are repeated ad nauseum !!! :D Good luck !
