Treats, treats, the magical fruit, the more you eat...

Last night, I decided to get a 'welcome to the home' gift for my friend's new dog. I have a small doggie bed and I bought a half pound of treats from our favorite barkery, along with two bully sticks for Asterisk and Wendel.

Josh and I left to get dinner and when we came back and I saw them munching on their bully sticks. My eyes widened and I flew into the kitchen to find the half pound of treats completely gone with the just the baggy left. It was an assortment of smaller treats for the smaller dog. We had a sunflower treat, a peanut butter treat, and a liver treat.

Last night was the worst fart fest I've encountered. Usually, they are silent, but these trumpets were enough to wake me each time. I even did a spot check on rears to make sure they didn't have diarrhea. And all the gas was coming from our new counter surfer Wendel.

Josh thought my reaction to Wendel having eaten all the treats was humorous at best and hilarious at worst. The bedroom is uninhabitable currently.

Are there any kind of beano or gas-x for dogs? Or should I invest in a gas mask?

I'm surprised you didn't learn from the "Pizza, Kringle, and Chocolate" thread that stuff in doggie counter reach is not safe  I think your furkids are loving life when you guys leave right about now. :D

We've always dealt w/the gas esp since you know the cause of this one, but that's because we're usually too tired by bedtime to try to find something for them. Hope it goes away today.
buy a mask and lots of air freshener!
Apparently he thought it was a self-serve snack bar..... 8)

I am not used to the surfing either - my surfer foster boy got adopted.
Todd had been working on the pasture fencing yesterday, and did a rigged up section for the end of the day - he wasn't quite done. The sheep found the hole. While we went out to put them back and fix the fence, Chewie's sister Martha who belongs to my daughter ate my food off the table. :(
It was a pork chop and a bit of leftover Mexican from eating out the night before!

al of my sheepdogs never had a counter surfer till now . well duffy is a closet surfer he opens it sand climbs the shelves now the treats are on top of the fridge but i am sure he his think to move the chair soon to get to them
Why does everybody that comes to my house go
to their new homes counter surfers!
It is a given here....oh the things they get into!

BTW you can give them beano but, that has to
be before the fact!
Not easy to predict :P
I'm sorry, but I had to laugh at the fart fest. If it makes you feel any better though, it hurt to laugh.....still recovering from surgery, lol.

I'm sorry, I don't have any suggestions...but I'm laughing so hard at your misfortune right now! I hope their gas is better today! We heard Katie let out the first loud, let alone audible toot I've ever heard from a dog and my 3-year-old son was rolling on the floor with laughter. Then he did it too, naturally.
These dogs are too clever!
   You have been initiated!!! They can clear a room!! It is especially nice when you have house guests that have never really been around the breed!
