Neoplasene: Cancer Combatant

I have been doing a lot of research in an attempt to find an alternative to combat Pogo's Transitional Nasal Tumor.

I was advised about two possible treatment options by Joe Bauer PHD of the Bauer Research Foundation in Ohio. One is the use of Neoplasene which is a holistic approach.

The Neoplasene destroys cancer cells.

I researched it on the internet and found a holistic vet in California, Dr. Nancy Scanlan, that has had success with the Neoplasene.

I called her today and spoke to her. She has treated ten dogs with the same tumor that my dog has.

She stated that the tumor was eliminated in one dog, and in the others it was kept at bay (preventing or reducing bloody noses). It has minimal side effects. Average life expectancy is 6-12 months which is the same prognosis I was given with the radiation treatment.

I have consulted with my local vet and we ordered the neoplasene today. ($232.) Hopefully we can start injectable nose drops next week if it arrives.

I will keep everyone posted as to the results either here or in my other post "OES nasal tumor, nose bleeds".

Does anyone else have experience with Neoplasene?

I cut and pasted some testimony from others who have used Neoplasene.

My dog Cyrus, a leonberger, was diagnosed with nasal cancer on Aug. 25, 2008. My vet did a scope of his nose and removed much of the tumor. Because of his age -- almost 11 -- and some other health issues over the last couple of years he's unable to undergo radiation. I discovered a holistic vet in my area -- Dr. Nancy Scanlan, Sherman Oaks Veterinary Group, Sherman Oaks, CA, (818) 784-9977 -- who has been using neoplasene for nasal cancer for about a year now. She's treated 5 dogs and all have shown marked improvement. Dr. Scanlan dilutes the neoplasene and uses it as nose drops. After his first treatment on Aug. 29th Cyrus sneezed and a piece of the tumor was discharged! The drops are administered once a week for now and so far, my dog has had no more nose bleeds and no difficulty breathing through his nose. I am EXTREMELY encouraged about the results so far and would recommend anyone who's looking for an alternative to radiation and chemo to check out neoplasene.

UPDATE ON CYRUS:

I want to let anyyone who is considering using neoplasene as a treatment for nasal cancer know that my dog Cyrus is doing GREAT on neoplasene. He gets the neoplasene nose drops every other day and has had no problem with the treatment. His symptoms have lessened greatly, he is able to breathe MUCH better, and his nosebleeds now occur only occasionally.

His quality of life has improved enormously since he started the neoplasene treatments. While not a cure for nasal cancer, neoplasene has been a godsend for Cyrus and I'm thankful I discovered it.

Many reputable vets (not only holistic vets) around the country have had great success using neoplasene for various forms of canine cancer.

I know others who are using neoplasene would agree this is an easy-to-use, inexpensive treatment that has improved the lives of our dogs. For those of you who are looking for an effective alternative to radiation or chemo check out the website for Buck Mountain Botanicals, the maker of neoplasene. http://www.http://www.buckmountainbotanicals.net/.

That sounds very interesting. I hope you have positive results with this for Pogo. :D
I hope it helps sweet Pogo.
Good luck--hope it works well for you.
Good luck! I'll cross fingers and paws that everything works out. Thinking of you and Pogo.
Hoping the best for you and Cyrus
Wow, that sounds so promising! Here's hoping you get terrific results for Pogo!!
:crossed: :plead: :crossed:
I was just wondering about Pogo. Hope this treatment does well for him. :crossed:
Good luck!!! :crossed:
If the results are the same as radiation and there are minimal side effects, it sounds like a very good treatment protocol to try. I hope it works well for your sweet boy. :crossed:
The Neoplasene came in this week and I just got back from the Vet for our first treatment.

I have done nothing but worry, worry, worry, waking up and worrying more about this and possible side-effects.

It couldn't have gone any better (other than wrestling my sweet Pogo who was a down-right steer today).

I squatted to hold him while my wonderful Vet (Dr. Don Russell, Sooner Vet in Norman, OK) squirted the nose drops into his nostril. Pogo knocked me on my butt the first time, it was kinda funny as he's not usually like this but afterall, who would like someone injecting something up their nose?

One of the side effects can be a nose bleed if part of the tumor is sneezed out immediately. This was not the case and we could tell that it was taking effect as he pawed at it (it supposedly stings on impact) attacking the tumor and leaving healthy cells alone.

Wow, cross your fingers that this eliminates the tumor or at least shinks it so that his nasal passage is not blocked.

We inject him every other day for the first few weeks, then we can cut back to once a week.

I'll keep everyone posted!
Poor Pogo...

I hope the treatment works well!!!
Pogo is not going to like the vet after this. Maybe you can treat him in different location, outside, the car, etc so Pogo doesn't associate the treatement room with all this.

Sure hope this works!
Actually, after about five minutes he laid down and was very calm in the treatment room.

I was very pleased with the experience as it went much better than I anticipated.

I don't think there will be a problem if we need to go back.

My Vet did show me how to do it and sent me home with everything I'll need to do it.

Since the next treatment is supposed to be on Sunday, my girlfriend and I will give it a whirl at home.
:crossed: :crossed: :crossed: and hugs to Pogo! :ghug:
Thought I'd let everyone know...

So far, so good!

Pogo actually lets me put the nose drops in without moving around.

It's like he trusts me and knows I'm trying to help.

He may have fought it before because others put the nose drops in while I held him. Now, I can do it alone.

He's had four treatments so far, no nose bleeds, and it sounds like his nasal passage is relatively clear.

Without a CT, I'm not going to know for sure if it's in remission or eliminated (I'll do this later when all subtle signs are gone, ie; eye drainage, no sneezes, clear breathing).

If you didn't know he has cancer, you wouldn't even be able to tell.

He is still very active, we run anywhere from a mile to 2.5 miles daily, he has a great appetite, and is the same happy, clownish dog that makes me laugh. What a companion!

No poor Pogo. He is a Stud!
That's wonderful news! Go Pogo!! :cheer:
Yay Pogo!

Run Pogo Run!
Wonderful!
Fingers crossed for you.
Well, we were told three months ago that was the life expectancy of my guy Pogo since being diagnosed with his transitional nasal tumor.

We're taking it day by day, but he is still happy and running and shows no major negative health signs.

We've had some side-effects from the neoplasene but we've adapted.

Thanks for the support I've gotten here.
My dog Josie is being treated with neo nose drops, also. It's her last chance. She has a large nasal tumor. She started the drops last wed. It has been tough going. She is snorting, gagging, etc. Not sure it's going to work, but it's all we have.
i am also using the neoplasene has a treatment for my pedro with a nasal tumor. I am confuse on how it is being used though. My vet which is doing the treatments for me and is putting peddro under to asminster the drup up and into his nasal passage. His first treatment he was just fine afterwards then i was putting it into his food for the first week but i messed up and he got a taste of it now he will not eat. finally got him to eat chicen shredded , fish with green beans and rice, boiled eggs, and chic fila nuggets. he had his second treatment today with the vet and he looks real sad but and now his right eye looks like it is bloodshot is this to be expected. i see where some people are using it has a nose drop like it is really easy to do. Please help me to make sure I am doing the right thing with this drug.
Did you buy the neoplasene from http://www.buckmountainbotanicals.net/ ??

I had my vet call the company and speak to them directly as to the administration of it.

In my case, I may have bought Pogo some time, but the cancer was NASTY and unbeatable. Perhaps if I could have caught it in it's earliest stages.

The cancer just kept coming back each time we had it removed.

I was able to squirt the liquid into my dog's nostrils.

I am very sorry to hear that you are having to go through this. I wish you and Pedro the best.

What kind of dog is Pedro?
Hello, my precious biggies (like two hours ago) just was told he has one nasal tumor. I don't have the money to do radiation, I am so upset, mad, frustrated, heatbroken etc. I just was wondering how you made out with your precious pumpkinhead? I just fell onto this type of treatment. I don't want to make his last days here horrible with radiation and such. I am not ready to say goodbye. He is only 6.5 years old and is a golden. How do you mend this broken heart?

thank you!
Guest, you did not leave an e-mail or name?

Hi there,

I was just wondering how you finally went using the Neoplasene, ? I live in Australia and have a 10 year old Samoyed Hudson, who has a sqarmous cell carcinoma in his left nostril.
in April of 2013 we started Radiation, at our last check up the tumor had shrunk, but then they wanted us to put him on chemo for the rest of his life, we paid out a lot for Radiation....and I mean a lot, and we just cant afford the chemo costs, so I have been looking for other option to try and shrink the tumor.
I would like to take the Neoplasene to my specialist to see if he could administer it. and I just wanted to know how you ended up going with this.
If there wasn't this tumour up his nose, you would never know he has cancer. I can tell that's its grown quite a lot in the last few months as its now almost blocking his nostril. if anything I would like to just allow him to breath a little better. he sneezes mucous and blood still on a daily basis, and his breath and teeth are revolting
thank you in advance

Hi. I just found out that my dog, Duke, has osteosarcoma in his nasal cavity yesterday. We have been dealing with hurricane Irma and a lot of homes and business are still out of power or may have power but the phones and internet are not working. Any way that is nothing of the news I got from Duke. The vet said even with the more aggressive radiation he would have a year to 18 months left. Then a friend told me about Neoplasene and I read your post and doing as much research I can do. How is your dog doing with the Neoplasene? I am going to call Buck Mountain today. Any input you have will help me. Thanks.
