Sometimes never I had an adult sheepie that suffered mad cow grazing disease every so often then would Barf up all sorts of goodies.
Hair, grass, toppy knot ties, stuffie fluffing you name it, it was there when she decided to eat grass and Barf. |
I have adults that still eat grass for no apparant reason. |
Nary a day goes by that MO doesn't eat grass and often it stays down!! She's nearly 12. Another sheepdog, Crumpet, was the same way. I guess my girls are grazers......... |
My two love to eat grass. But I have noticed that it has to be a taller, coarser blade for them to eat it.
Once and awhile they like to eat leaves. |

The hard,, crunchy,, dried leaves????? Heart's favorite!!!!!! |
There was an article this month in the Dogs In Canada magazine about dogs eating grass and poop and the conclusion it came to was that it's just normal to them, and they like it. There is no scientific or medical reason, they just do.
I thought, well that was a useless article. LOL |

Yesterday on our walk, it was freshly picked from the ground, still nice and green. Once and awhile, it gets stuck in her teeth and she dry heaves it onto the ground. |
I feel so much better after reading this thread....I was afraid Chaunce was a sheep-sheepdog mix |
Archie eats grass, and it passes through, he even eats it on the gallop!
Maybe he likes the taste? I know one thing our pots of ornamental grass on the patio were a waste of time! |
Ru goes crazy for a certain type of grass, I thought he had his head stuck in the fence trying to get at some. I was pulling & pulling to get his head out, went to call Greg for help & of course Ru followed me |
