So, Annie is standing at the back of the fence just staring at the ground. I finally go out there to see a baby bunny snuggled up. Annie didn't even touch it and went to sit down. Aw, good girl! The other 3 bunnies start climbing out of the hole to check me out. Of course, at this point Foz catches sight and starts to come over. I really don't know how he'll react as he does like to chase squirrels and rabbits in our yard. I think he might just squoosh them by accident thinking they are playing with him. I make him stand back and then sit. All the while telling him "leave it" and "gentle". I finally walk him to the other side of the porch hoping he'll go potty. When I think it's safe, I run into the house for a split second to grab dish gloves. I look back out and there's Fozzie and one of the bunnies nose to nose In panic, I yell loudly to "leave it" and he backs away. It would have made a great picture, but I was much too concerned. I picked up the lone bunny at the back of the fence and set him near the hole. His siblings nuzzled him back in. So cute! It's adorable and all, but I can't really walk the dogs at the moment. Hmm... |

Twice I had rabbits in my yard at my old house. They just dug holes in the middle of the yard.
I wasn't keeping up on my mowing as I should have, so that may be why they decided to live in my yard. The first time I encountered them, it wasn't pretty. The second time wasn't as bad. |
All 5 bunnies are dead I went out this morning and one was at the front of the hole. Steve pulled him out and the rest of them. We never saw the Mom come around so that must have done them in.
We think Foz sensed their death last night as he asked to go outside twice last night before bed and didn't go potty either time. I wonder if he was checking on them...sweet boy. Then he woke us up at 1:15 to really go pee. |
Oh, that's sad. |
