Tried making her chicken and rice and she would have none of it. She ate last night just fine. So, I'm thinking she ate the wrong thing-hubby saw her eating some flowers and I see in the throw up mulberries and grass What would you all do? |

My vet always says the same thing: Nothing by mouth for 24 hours only sips of water
I NEVER give anything OTC to my dogs unless the vet prescribes it. |
Grass is sign they are trying to purge........or she's related to MO who dines on grass daily. Mostly it stays down.
24 hours w/o food is best. They won't starve, but let you know they think they are. Start back on rice and no skin chicken. If that stays down, gradually bring back he kibble. If found this on Pepto search: Quote: Anti-diarrhea medications Peptobismol, containing bismuth subsalicylate, a form of aspirin that is toxic to cats, is not recommended for use in cats and most dogs. Kaopectate, containing kaolin and pectin, has long been considered a harmless over-the-counter treatment for stomach upsets for animals. Now the “New and Improved” Kaopectate contains this same product as found in Peptobismol (bismuth subsalicylate) and thus, it must be avoided in all cats and some dogs that may be sensitive to salicylates or aspirin-like products. Immodium can decrease gastrointestinal motility that may lead to other problems in pets with vomiting and diarrhea. |
Let the tummy rest no food for 24 hours and only just small amounts of water frequently.
After start back on bland poached chicken flesh and rice. If it continues off to the vet for help then. |
thanks all!
That's what I did and today she devoured breakfast. This a.m I gave her half dog food and half chicken and rice. So, I think she is back on track. THANKS! |
