I know I can manage music manually and not sync, but at some point I'd like to be able to (I think) and I am so annoyed that the new ipods are not recognized as an external drive to just drag and drop from the ipod to the pc like you could with regular ipods. I only have about 3000 songs on the new pc at this point, but there are a lot of songs, videos, movies, ebooks and apps etc that will be lost if I sync so I need to find a good program to move stuff from my ipod to my pc. I've googled and found the same complaint many times but not a lot of good solutions. There are some free progs that will let you move 1 to 10 songs at a time (useless and time consuming) and paid progs that will let you move up to 100 at a time (still kind of lame) but I see nothing about importing apps and movies and photos from the ipod touch to the pc. Anyone have any experiences here? |

I know of free Mac programs...
I know, no help. |
I use a Mac with my ipod but my daughter uses a PC and ran into the same issue when she got a new laptop. I don't think that she found an easy resolution. I will double check with her though because we haven't discussed it in a while--and if she found a fix I will post it for you. |
Too complicated for me! The kids bought us an ipod for Christmas several years ago. Jim uses it. I have yet to figure it out. So what you are talking about REALLY sounds complicated to me! |
I think my daughter just copied her library of songs from the old computer to the new one. She didn't lose any of them that I know of..... |
Here's an option, although annoying, it could be better than nothing.
http://www.kennettnet.co.uk/products/musicrescue/ Pull all the music off with Music Rescue and copy it to the new PC and then at least it's there. Then, when you sync with the other machine, and add music, you can just Music Rescue the extra tunes to the new machine if you decide to sync back. I've used Music Rescue for Mac with success since I run between two machines as well and I don't want to sync music on one for the same reasons. I didn't realize it was also a PC option. |
I spoke with my daughter--not great news. She said after all the research she did without finding a quick easy way to do it. She just started over--Sorry no help I know! |
