Eevery hour I have to take the sling off and do 5 min. of excerise. He does not want my arm to freeze. Go back in 1 week again. Hope I get to sleep in bed tonight as the ER doc said to sleep sitting up for at least 5 days. Tthe arm is very swollen and black and blue, even the palm is back and blue. I am am on the mend and thanks to all for your ideas on the pain. It worked! |

Thats good news. I hope the progress continues. |
Yay for the healing arm! |
Ugh every hour must feel constant So happy you are healing though! |
Well, you have the first week about over...so only getting better now. When you do eventually get to lay down in bed, make sure you use pillows to lift and set the arm in a comfortable position.
I hope you're feeling better soon. |
Every positive step shall be cheered. Do those 'cises........hurts like......ahem........but you want that arm back working properly. |
I'm glad things are looking good...even when it's starting to feel better, don't do too much too soon... |
I can sympathise.
I broke my shoulder some years back, possibly the worst bit was the bruising travelling down the arm and eventually out of the fingertips. Top tip - I found Red Wine much better at dulling the pain than any of the meds the doctors gave me (not at the same time I might add!) |
I am so sorry to hear about your arm. Hope it feels better soon.
Take care |
Glad to hear that your arm is healing up.....The doc didn't say anything about elevating the arm on a pillow?? Did you try that at all...It is an upper arm fracture, right ? |
yes upper arm...... and yes already on a pillow for so many min a hour to help with swelling. still swollen an so black and blue. this to will go in time |
In 2005 during the holiday season I was holiday shopping. I came home and went up the stairs lost my footing, fell, and my arm got stuck in the wooden railing and SNAP. Talk about seeing stars.....
I had a fracture in my left forearm. I know your pain, and I'm really sorry you are still hurting. It will tickle, feel numb at times (which is REAALLLY uncomfortable) and get itchy too. That's a good sign. It means you are healing! Feel better! |
it's good to hear you're on the mend! |
Glad you're on the mend. (Stealing time at work!)
