That happens to me now that Mr. J doesn't go away as much (when I will eat leftovers). My MIL is real good about writing what it is on the container, but I'm too lazy. |
I keep very little. I always think that it's a great idea to freeze leftovers and then reheat them later, but like you just said, it all turns into UFOs ... unidentfied frozen objects. I only have one freezer, though. Maybe if I had a second one I could do better. I have a hard enough time defrosting meat and using that, lol. |
We label , I hate UFO's in the freezer.
If in doubt, you can always thaw them, do a positive ID on them. If nothing else, it may be something for the dogs as a treat mixed with their food! |
They don't go into the freezer......oh, maybe turkey from Thanksgiving. My DH will gladly eat leftovers........and overs. When it is a choice of leftovers or him cooking, he's very easy to feed |
I did not label
There are so many. So I will defrost and see if its dog food. I hate to toss BUT. So many have no food and mines in the garbage. I have learned a big lesson. By the way we do have a 21 cube freezer, thats what I need to empty. |
i label all of mine.... in pencil...what it is, date and for how many and then maybe add a note...add meat and tomato sauce for (4)...
ie... spaghetti 5/09 (2) |
What are leftovers? Around my house, there are very few. I do label what little makes it to the freezer, but it is usually just enough for one. I eat those when there is no one home but me, that happens once in a blue moon though. I probably need to do the same thing.
