Something going on in my house?

When we got the 2 new kids I did see more dust. OK so I had to dust more. Now we are up to NOT dust but soot or something. It covers everything everyday. I dusted late Sat. and some yesterday. Today the house was full again. What is it. The heat is off but the registers are cleaned as the cold air returns. Furance filter is changed every 2 weeks.
It is like it comes from the ceiling to coat everything.

Any ideas out there?

More likely a result of the abnormally dry spring we have had and the fact that you have three furry dogs bringing the stuff in now - Everyone i know is complainng of more dust and at our house with four dogs its almost a lost cause.
Urgh... we have the same problem. My fiance didn't believe me until he got up discovered that our black dining room table was coated in about an Inch of thick green dust. I think ours might be due to a combination of drought, a recent mini flood and near by building construction though
Pollen comes in many colors and I think they are all up my nose and in my throat today.

You might also have soot from far away forest fires. Remember in the Dust Bowl days the skies in Wash DC were blackened, When Mt. St. Helens blew her stack ash fell on the East Coast.....actually she busted out her side seam, not blew her head off.
