I have seen the straingest things since I've moved to Florida, 3 airplanes landed on the x-way at different times and the most recent a Helicopter that had landed on the BLVD that I was now traveling on. Oh, and I can't forget about the story of my friend, who was traveling at night on a road that was not well lit, who hit an eight foot alligator that was crossing the road. I digress, so continue on my way. I turn East on Port Malabar Rd and glancing across at the traffic going West...I noticed the traffic was really bogging down. Think to self "I sure hope that clears up before I'm back over there." Then I look in my rearview mirror and I see smoke in the air. Oh, no! A brush fire...could tell by the smoke, pretty intense. Finally pick up hubby, stop by son's in Melbourne and on the way home my daughter calls. She tells me we may have a problem parking in the garage....the electricity is out. We have a power garage door opener. She said the electricity went out shortly after I left, there was an accident at a main power box. I wondered if it was the Crazy Motorcyclist...anyway, so she has been without power, a/c (it is 90F here this week)(tg the dogs where with me in the nice a/c ed van)TV ect. She said it was dead quiet in the house and getting hot. As I was exiting the x-way at our exit she said the Elect was just caming back on. So by the time the girls and I arrived home the house was nice and cool for them. All of this transpired in less then an hour and a half. Regarding the fires, they do have them under control, but grass is very dry and we are looking forward to our daily 5 minute rain storms in a few weeks. I thought I would share an hour and a half of life in Florida. |

I'm just glad you guys got the air back on. That's ALWAYS my biggest fear. When we moved here, everyone on our street had their electricity cut off because of a promotion that wasn't fulfilled by the builder... People about to give birth, and a lady who just did were w/o electricity and it was over 100. Thankfully we had a different provider. My course of action would be to immediately get a hotel room. I can't handle heat. I'm a wuss.
I like seeing strange crap on the highway, but I've never seen any of that!! |

You then go out in the early morning.they let hotel guest get in early, and then when it starts getting warm, go back to the hotel for a couple of hours. Once it starts cooling off, go back out and enjoy some of the night life at Disney. I went ot African Safari when it was 95F in August and swore I would never do that again. |
we only went for three hours to get hubbys birthday $75 gift card (they give you these if you have annual passes which we do) and as our house is only 5 miles from the parks we don't bother with a room.
i think i'm just going to hid indoors until the babys born pleading that the heat is to much for me. zoe and einy |
