Tony is very upset. I'm not, and feel badly that I'm not, but I understand that Liz can be wiggly. Would you be ok with this situation, or upset like Tony? Liz and Pirate have been going to her for over a year...they love her...and nothing like this has ever happened before. |

If I had other experiences with the groomer that were positive I would be open minded - Dan woud be like Tony.
I would also expect her to pay for any vet bills that may ensue (if any) and maybe comp a grooming? |
If you love your groomer and you know your dog is completely comfortable (kisses), and you know your dog can be wiggly....it's just an unfortunate event but nothing to be upset with the groomer about.
Now if the groomer didn't tell you or tried to story it up, that might be different. But she was up front and clearly upset it happened. No worries. |
John and I would both be understanding. Things can happen, and while I expect the groomer to be careful and professional, accidents can occur.
Sounds like your experience has been positive so far, although is is tuff to handle when something happens to one of our kids! |
Lizzie was lovin' her as much when we left, as when we got there. The groomer was visibly upset, and was totally upfront with me. She waited til I got there to bandage Liz, so I could see it. She also said if Liz were her dog, she wouldn't take her to the vet immediatly, but would wait to see how it was healing, unless it started bleeding again..she didn't think it needed any stitches. But she also said, if it made me feel better, I could take her to the vet (she didn't say she would pay, but if that were the case, I would not feel uncomfortable sending her the bill) She didn't comp the grooming, but sent home lots of treats for all the dogs, which she usually does not do. |
Yeah, if you like her and you've had otherwise good experiences, I wouldn't worry about it too much. Accidents can easily happen even when you're being really careful. Even the best behaved dogs can squirm at the wrong moment. Agreed, if she requires vet expenses, the groomer should pay. |

Ditto. I've even done stuff like that on my own dogs. Melody once stuck her tongue out just as I was tidying up her chin after a shave down. Cost me over $150.00 at the emergency clinic that night to have 1 stitch put in it to make it stop bleeding! |
Not the same; but I took my girls for a groom recently, and asked that the hair be cut from their eyes in a very specific fashion. Luna was done exactly the way I wanted, and Tonks had a hack job across her face. It looks awful. BUT I know Tonks is bad at grooming, she wiggles and moves and will even snap at your brush hand. My groomer is very good with the girls; so I didn't say a thing about Tonks' bad hair cut. I assume its Tonks own fault. |

I am sure she felt awful but, at least she was upfront with you! |

I agree... when we got Bailey shaved down, her groomer got her with the clippers! Left a little scrape-type area on her hip and one on one of her hind legs! She didn't mention it to us at all, even though it was totally obvious & very easy to see! |

She didn't comp the grooming, but sent home lots of treats for all the dogs, which she usually does not do. Please remember your groomer is not a vet, her scissors and other tools are not sterilized she uses them on every dog she grooms, if has bled then I would certainly get mine checked over by our vet and the wound treated professionly and let my vet decide if it needs stitches. |
It's a week later, and Lizzie is healing nicely. I think we treated it the right way. |
