If your dog is lethargic in any way, not interested in food or water, having trouble pooping and looking generally unwell in his dimeanor then straight off to the vets.
Hopefully it will pass without causing a blockage, but any change in him at all, dont muck around and off to the vets straight away. It might take a few days to pass, keep checking his poo to see if it emerges, if not in a day or so then again off to the vets, in the meantime syringe into his mouth some oil, Olive oil or Flax Seed oil to help with hopefully a smooth exit of the sock. |
What size sock?
My experience with a couple of occasional clothing eaters has been they yak it up in a couple of days. But you should watch him/her carefully as suggested above. |
If it were me, I would be in the vets for an x-ray. You don't want to mess around with this breed and their digestive system. |
First of all do not panic, take the dog to the vet and get him someting that will make him be sick or will clear his bowels, if the sock has not been retrieved then it may be advisable to x-ray him just in case. |
Well if it was a baby sock, I can say with at least some certainty it'll pass. Yuki has swallowed at least 20 as a puppy and she would dig in the laundry basket! Hopefully your dog will be fine! |
Sky used to eat socks all the time and she passed them, but every dog is different so I'd keep a close eye on things and like Lisa said if anything seems off I'd get in to the vet. |
