was that the red end or the red handle/ body?
Is it the red Mat Zapper or the red medium brush?

I have the LP double purple brush and use it a lot. Like a stiff slicker but doesn't pull out a lot of coat if used in other areas. Nice for getting out mats, too. Just have to be careful not to scratch the skin, although the pins are polished better than a regular slicker.

If it's the Mat Zapper, it will get mats out but the pins are so stiff that you shouldn't brush up against the dog's skin. Hold the mat in your fingers and brush against them. People generally stop before their fingers get bloody.

Yes, they are wickedly expensive but mine have lasted a long time.
I caved in to temptation and ordered the Matt Zapper and the Blue Medium

Archies current brushes, mainly mikka brand haven't faired to well and have a fair share of misaligned pins, so it is time to treat the pup.

And yes they are expensive, but for a change it isn't at £ to the $, my wife doesn't know yet so ssssh don't let on!
Yup, I believe it was the matzapper brush. They won't sell it to the public- only to professionals.. I did see one on ebay tho.. I think I'm going to purchase the purple one, and maybe the matzapper..

What's the difference between those two? I know maggie says they're stiffer.. Is the purple brush close enough? Because I'm not sure if I shud fork over another 85 bucks for the matzapper!

me too (caving into temptation), I bought the wide purple brush... I didnt get the matt zapper tho.. im afraid to use it. Let me know how you like it!!!!
I rarely use the Matzapper because Nelson never gets matted enough to require it. There's a recommended technique for using it as well. If you feel like you can't live without it, I'd recommend the single rather than the double Matzapper. Saves money and is a lot easier to control. IMO, if an OES is matted badly enough to require a Matzapper (like most of our rescues), it's probably time for a complete shavedown.

The double purple brush is one of my favorites. It works great on feet and legs and can be used on the body overall without pulling too much undercoat out. When I use a pin brush over a dog's body and run into a small pin mat or webbing, a stroke or two of the purple brush takes it right out.
I am looking forward to these coming this week - obviously the matt zapper sounds like it is to be used with caution - thanks for the warning.
Erm oh my word!

These brushes are excellent! :D

Only a light use on Archie this morning made a fantastic difference.

Unlike my other slickers - the longer bristle length really makes a huge difference.

You don't have to put any pressure on the coat they just tease their way through.

Archies coat was so loose and bouncy!

- right up until the point where he found some mud on our walk!

Yes they are expensive but for me it is like I have turned a corner.
Great!! I cant wait for mine. They're being shipped as of now! :)
ive got the red matt zapper and i love it. billy even lets me brush his armpits with it, its so gentle, especially when his lying on his back, paws in the air.
i am a groomer and its my most commenly used brush. but its great for a quick brush on billy. ive only seen them at the same sort of price though £27.50 but in my opinion worth it, ive got the soft green one too.
