A little while ago I posted that I was interested in ordering some clippers and was looking for advice. I ended up ordering the Andis AGC 2 Speed. I subjected Tucker to my first home clipping job last week and I think he turned out pretty well! The #7 was gave a shorter cut than I had imagined, but when I think back everyone did say that it would cut under the mats, so I should've known it would be pretty short. I had a problem keeping it even. He has some spots that are longer than the rest. I like these longer sections better but I don't know how I did them! He's a bit choppy, even after I did the "brush/clip/bathe/dry/clip" routine. How can I prevent this next time? Also, I'm going to be ordering a 3 3/4 blade for later in the summer when this buzz-cut grows out a bit. How will I get it to be even? I'm really worried that I'm going to have a really odd looking pup. Any tips? Also, I was really surprised that my $122 clipper plus a blade ended up costing me just under $300 after the currency exchange into Cdn $, tax, shipping and handling, but what really got me was the brokerage fee of $64!!! Is there any way to avoid this? Yowza!!!!!! That one stung a bit. In any event, now what you've all been waiting for is some pictures of his new do!! So here he is. Before: After: |

Nice job.
I'm in awe of anyone who even attempts this. I take George to the groomers otherwise he would look dreadful. |
He is pretty short, I like his face!
And you don't need to brush him in half a year. Well, my arms could need som vacation...... |
I haven't clipped, just sheared sheep. Trust me, the sheep look worse!
I think he looks nice, and he will have that cute super fluffy look soon. |
You did a great job I did such a rotten job I had to take Dutch to the groomers . Can't you buy the Andis clippers here in Canada? I bought the Oster Golden 5A 2 speed clippers at Petsmart and they were 259.00 plus tax Cnd. and now I don't think I will ever use them again |
Thanks everyone! I'm getting used to the look - I call him my "deer fawn" becuase that's what he looks like!
Yes I'm sure you can buy Andis clippers in Canada - but I thought I was getting a bargain because the online price was only $122 which would've been a steal if I didn't have all that other hoopla to have to pay for!! |
Your little fawn will be a fuzzy puppy shortly. Be patient. |
Aww, he looks cute . What's a brokerage fee? I come to Canada fairly often, you could ship your stuff to me and I could mail it from Canada...way cheaper. Although your $ is way stronger than USD, I just deposited my share of Gabe's check ($2000.00) and only got $1551 in USD |
