Annie's tears have been more mucousy and runny in the last few months due to these little buggers. Our regular vet looked at her eyes and said that her cornea isn't scratched and this is just a result of being irritated. He gave us drops which cleared things up for a week, but the issue comes right back. They said we can use the drops a few times a week without damage. I love my vet dearly. Business must be good in this economy as he's expanding the building to about twice the size! Man, I should have been a veterinarian! Maybe my little guy will want to do that and then his mommy can work for him It was always my dream but I was told I have allergies, it was too much school, too expensive, probably not smart enough....nice, huh? I'm sure they were right, but still! |

Yikes!8O Fits right in with the other post about expensive vet bills. |
I keep reading this title as "chorizo" and wondering what sausage has to do with medical and nutrition, lol. |
Stacy wrote: OMG! The vet eye specialist would charge cost me $750 per little eyelid chalazion (fatty cyst) to be removed from Annie's eye with a laser and local anesthetic. That doesn't include the $250 evaluation! Needless to say, we won't be going this route right now.

Yea, but I think the allergies are the kicker. Of course Steve reminded me that our little guy is likely to have those too since we both have bad allergies Maybe he'll be able to suck it up. Then again, he can be whatever he wants to be. Just as long as he grows up to be a good honest man I say that now...
PS HE BETTER LOVE DOGS! |
Stacy - if it can't be controlled by drops, you may want to check out one of the eye specialists in Wisconsin. There are excellent docs in Appleton and Green Bay. You should be able to call and get a quote. Your area of the world seems to be on the expensive side of things so it might be worth it to have it done elsewhere.
Just keep that possibility in the back of your mind just in case. Kristine |
