I've been lurking on this forum for a few years, just to find out information about owning an OES. We have wanted an OES for years, but the timing was never right. We have a 5 year old Great Dane girl, currently. We had a male Dane (2 days older than our girl) up until about a year ago when he started to show signs of serious agression. We have two children (skin kids), so this was a serious issue. He was returned to his breeder, unfortunately, and we have been missing him like crazy...as has our girl. We wanted to wait a little while before deciding what to do, rather than rush out and get a "replacement" dog and after a lot of serious concideration over the last 6 months as what breed and how much time we have to offer a puppy, etc, we are ready to add to our herd. I contacted a local breeder a few weeks ago and we are going to check out her breeding program this weekend. So, for now, unless something changes and we don't like what we see this weekend...We are on the list to get our first OES!!!! Her bitch is about 4 weeks pregnant, so we should only have about a 3 1/2 month wait!!! We are so excited! So, I decided it was time to join this group, if you'll have me.... So, my name is Leela...and I love big dogs. |
