The BIG Guy

Beowulf (aka Mr Newfie Puppy) went to the vets today for the first time since like last summer (when he weighed 88 pounds)

Would any one like to guess his weight today at 14 months?

that's what my guess was too.
My guess darn heavy after having a Newfie years ago.

Hmmm can only guess in Kilos so am tipping 52 kg's :P
134 pounds. Although you make a beefy OES, so I probably should have guessed higher!
Ah Lisa I tought you mighthave it - but you are the farthest away and no no one is there yet! and Dawn he doesn't have morgan's fluffy problem (his thyroid meds don't seem to help his waistline :( )
99 lbs.
I'd think he'd have gained a ton of weight in that time. They keep growing for awhile, don't they? Maybe about 145?
I will say 138
Yea Jill  - very close. Baby B as my husband likes to call him, is 150 pounds 8O that's a lot of chicken backs :?

That was actually my first guess but it seemed SO heavy so I knocked five pounds off! I was thinking a little less than double sounded right. Either way, it hurts about the same when you get stepped on.
:aww: :aww: :aww:

He can come visit anytime! Just so he doesn't step on my foot!
He weights more then my teenages
DANG IT trust Jill to be right :P

Been years & years since a newfie, I should see in the old albums if I can find a picture of him. He was all black with the white on his chest and all I can remember if he did not want to move then there was not a hope in hell of budging the big man.

And stepping on feet OUCH crush-a-matic

I love newfies cept from the slobber factor, our boy could sit there and stringing bubbles of drool hanging off those chops expecially in the warmer months and Watch out if he shook his head, Drool flying everywhere, SPLAT

Is your man obssessed with water? Ours was, ate through the spa cover to the bubbling water underneath when the filter was on. Came home and here he was sitting and splashing around in the spa with a torn up cover half dragged off it. After that a pool fence went around the spa with also a new thermal cover needed

He was a big gentle soul & I still have such a soft spot for the breed :hearts:

He weighs more than my 25 yo daughter as well and our trainer (well actually I think Morgan outweighs her to be honest)

I wish he weighed more than I did

He is a wet mouth too. The good thing is hubby is now washing walls - just not often enough :(

He loves the water =- we live at a lake and in the summer he and Morgan swim all the tie at night and on the weekends with me. Unfortunatley this year they are treating the lake for plant growth so I don't know - we may have to find another spot to swin util later in the summer.

He is a sweetie , but he had a bit of character. he is the only dog in the pack who will stand up to my female. and she will back down everytime :D
Our Newf wasn't that big, but my brother's beast was closer to 200 lbs. What a magnificient dog........sounds like Beowolf is in that same category.

When people ask what he eats, do you answer, "Small children."?? It was always so difficult to get people to understand the bigger dogs don't eat that much after they've stopped growing.....well most. Some continue to consume most of their lives.

Oh, now you are going to make me look thru the old photos! Someplace I have a pix of me between the Newf and a Pyr boy. We were stretched out in the back field. Problem is that day I wasn't wearing a bra and even the big dogs couldn't hide that fact  So maybe I won't go looking for the pix.
Holy smokes! He weighs roughly the equivalent of 2.5 Sybils!!! Maybe we should change the way we count dogs and do it by pounds (or kgs)

Kristine
I was giving a fellow agility student gried about having 15 chi's - she said 10 of hers equaled Marley :)
Thats so funny - he eats small children
