| Willowsprite - thanks for the link through to your homepage - I do appreciate it. Everytime I see someone from Canada, it brings back some wonderful memories when I lived there for 2 years - Kingston, Ontario. Beautiful country and fabulous people who have a very similar sense of humour to the Aussies ! Enjoy the warmer weather !

Hi Welcome. I jumped for joy when I read you are from Adelaide! I shouted to my husband...Hey quick, come here, there IS another person liveng in S.A. It's soooo slow here I was convinced I was living in the movie Encino man. I was going to go to town on the weekend but thought I'd save the excitement of our one main road of shopping until I could get my hands on sedatives to contain the thrill. I live at Harrogate. Yeah! I would appreciate it if you would stop laughing now!  Can't wait to se pics of pups. |

I love going to Adelaide and make an annual trip to their every year with the dogs. Looking forward to later this year and catching up with one of Bries sons. |
| Hi, Harrogate, or 'hillbilly hell' is about 120 km from Adelaide. Go past Nairne and turn left at the old pig yards then drive till you get scared. Lock your doors and wind up your windows and don't stop for anything. The place is like a scene out of those creepy movies where your screaming, 'no don't stop and get out, you fool!!'. No joke. The locals are nuts! I can only name two of them that can look at you with both eyes at once! Do you remember the woman who started the fires. She lives down the road. She set fire to the back paddock of our place and we could have lost all our horses, dogs and sheep. Oh, yeah, the husband and kids too. When she went to court last week, they brought in a couple who live two hundred acres away to tell how the smoke bothered them. HOW ABOUT ME? Stupid here was too busy putting out the fire to lodge a statement with one of the 50 cops who helped!!! She could be home in August to her husband who forgave here! Lock up the matches. |

Sooooo your advising when visting SA to avoid at all costs "Harrogate" ?

| I kid you not!. It's creepy. There is only one road in that goes past the cemetery, it's dirt road all the way. We have heard from locals that there is a whole lot of stuff going on there but when ever we go, the place consists of a couple of streets and nothing else. Not even a pub! I get scared one of my kids might meet someone from there and never be heard of again. The road loopes around and goes past the back of our place to Murray Bridge. My mother in law lives there. There is just no escape! I would like to point out at this stage I moved from Mclaren Vale. A semi sane area! (depending on your sanity level, but with a whole lot of wine to sooth your paranoid fears). |

I just love the description of Harrowgate - I reckon i may just have to venture forth, with bottle of wine in hand, mobile phone in the other - particularly past the cemetery! Hilarious !!!!! Forget the mobile, no coverage between 10 a.m and 5 p.m. I sometimes have to stand in the top paddock with computer balanced somewhere get coverage. As for wine bring two bottles. Trust me, one won't be enough! I had nightmares the other night after ditching on the place, then the next day, the generator over reved and blew up the dvd, t.v. and fridge. My car broke down and I had to spend the whole day here alone. I was pooping myself. It was like karma came and gave me a huge kick!   |
