I have been on a healthy eating campaign and getting some much needed weight loss. A dog group that includes my daughter LeAnne and Sunny (lucali) have had an online support group for each other, with a weight loss challenge. We have been very successful! We started with the 3 of us back in August 2008, and now our group has grown to 6. I am just hitting my 30 pound loss mark, so I thought I would post some pictures From a year ago: and the worst one: and now some more recent pictures: I dropped several clothes sizes and feel so much better! I look back at pictures, and realize those pounds had been insideously creeping on. Worse when I started working nights 10 yrs ago. I have donated most of my "old clothes", so there is no going back. |

Sure, but it really is nothing fancy. Just a hodge-podge of things, held together by stubborness, I guess. It started with Myself, LeAnne and Sunny deciding to do it. We based ourselves after the TV show - the Biggest Losers. But we were the "dog version" LOL We set a goal from the start (August?) to go to the 09 Nationalsas our deadline. The winner got to buy things at the silent auctions, complements of the losers. We weighed in every Monday and emailed our weights to each other. We also offered tips that helped, also things that were detrimental to our progress. I know the group pressure and my competitive nature were big factors in keeping me on track, especially at the beginning. I used a combination of WW points, reading packages and stopping my Mountain Dew/Mello Yellow cold turkey. Smaller portion sizes and making sure I ate a little when I really was hungry. Listening to my body - was it my mouth hungry, or really my stomach? One day I barely consumed any calories in the AM, and took my client for a LONG walk around the neighborhood in her wheelchair. I was lightheaded after awhile and realized I better eat a tad more before embarking on long walks! Anyway, when the 3 of us saw each other the 1st time at the show, we were all amazed! Even in that short time we were seeing visible results! So we dicided to continue on, with Jan 1 as our new deadline. We all did super - we lost about 60 pounds between the 3 of us. Then our dog friends were noticing as well, so we added 3 more to our group in January. And, for those interested, I won the 1st challenge, and Sunny won the 2nd. |

But think about it...all three of you really won! |
You go, girlfriend!
Congrats on your success! Laurie and Oscar |

Wow. You hit the nail on the head. You look very pretty and younger. I should try some online friends with a lot to lose like I do f]to encourage each other. Good idea. |
I'm holding out for a bikini pic!!
You do look great though! Keep up the good work! If I had known there was a competition, I would have stuffed some cake into your competition while we were in Pittsburgh. |

Darn - why didn't I think of that.....although, she never told me she was going - probably just to avert such actions by her "friends" |
