Lisa is the new Animal League of Gaston County volunteer Rescue Coordinator taking over coordinating with rescues to pull and transport pets from Gaston County Animal Control. Lisa can be reached at any time during the day (when the rest of us can't take calls or emails) and she spends most of the day up at Gaston County Animal Control, so she will be available to help immediately when timing is crucial! Lisa is a former AC officer, and she can help with getting information on pets such as temperament, approximate weight, age, etc... Lisa is the one to contact for help to coordinate rescues and transports for pets. You will need to email or call Lisa to confirm a rescue for a pet labeled as "Others" BEFORE the "Release Date", which is the euthanasia date. There is no fee for rescues to pull these pets, and Lisa will help you make arrangements to pull and with transport help locally. Lisa can get thru to Gaston AC early in the morning before any of the public can, so she is THE person to contact for help. Pets labeled as "others" can be picked up between 4:30-5:00 pm the day BEFORE the "release date", or no later than 4:00 the day of the "Release Date"...but they MUST have a confirmed rescue BEFORE the release date or they can be euthanized the next morning first thing, before Gaston AC opens to the public. Just to follow up on this girl, she was picked up last Thursday and is being fostered by the Lamms. She is available for adoption through TOESR. If you're intersted, you can fill out an application at www.tarheeloesrescue.org.  |

To further update you on Patches, she was found to be HW+ at her vet check.  She underwent the first of two treatments today. Hers is not a mild case, so please send your prayers her way. Of course, under these circumstances, it will be at least another month before we can consider allowing her to be adopted. Thanks for thinking of her!  |
