Over the weekend he played with the puppy next door, more rolling on the ground, wrestling, playing chase etc. Again last night he got to play with Otis (puppy). Had enough pieces and parts of the yard in his hair to start a landscaping business. Just to give an idea his grey is brown, his white is brown, he lays down and matches the dirt. You can pat his side and watch the dust fly from his coat. A few friends have even commented, I've never seen him this dirty. He is not matted or muddy, just filthy. Going to groomer over weekend, if we can get in. If you ask Obe, he has had a blast laying in the dirt, playing with Otis, running through the woods and most importantly just being a dog. He mentioned that he cant wait till I pay for the grooming and he gets to start the process all over again. |

You need to do a before and after of him, from brown to gray and white.
Sounds like he's had a fun winter...too bad not much snow, though. |
^
I agree. |
Poor Obe.
Maybe he just needs a trip through the power dryer - to blow out all the dust! |
we went over the park this afternoon and Summer spotted a big pile of leaves and rolled in them. Hubby thought it was poo or similar but no she just wanted to see how many leaves she could stick on her already tangled coat! |
I can't believe he doesn't drop in dirt at night when he's sleeping!! Or maybe you are just too geared towards the whitest white. Jack and MO leave little sand piles where they sleep. Ah, that's it. Obe is in your very special clay.
We have silty clay over sand and by the time the ground gets turned enough, there's enough sand to cushion their bones and then come inside and fall on floor, carpet and furniture. Yep, you've been dry there. March and April are snowy months there, but maybe not this year. Actually worry about your fire danger there in Evergreen and the rest of the Front Range. |
I'd like to see a before and after too |

I'll try and get a picture may not due justice. Oh fire danger... water restrictions go into effect end of month if no moisture (A LOT). That info came from friends at h2o dept. It is just going to be a bad summer in this state. Water is just barely coming over the damn, should be rushing. |
LOL, at Obe and his coatings, we can send you some snow if you like
I took this photo yesterday morning from my back deck http://jeanearl.com/deer.jpg |
Sending Obe to the groomer might bring on some rain for you. Every time I send the boys to be groomed it seems that it pours for the next few days. and the feet suffer! My groomer even commented that when we need rain she will groom Baley and Baxter. Might not work in Evergreen--but it seems to be the trend in Nashville. |
Don't you know that covering yourself in dirt keeps the flies from biting. Poor Obe doesn't want to get bit |
Sheepdogs playing in dirt? I'm sure you must be mistaken! |
Syd wants to make Obe his best buddy, I am tackling my grot boy at the moment.
Dust, red from up at the farm,we now have pinkiish legs, pee mis aims and he stinks to high heaven. If he had his way he would prefer to be an outdoorsie/farm kinda guy. BOYS Maybe we should compare grotty boy sheepie photos, the before and after? I bet ya, Syd is worse then Obe at the moment Hubby said to keep a boy SHEESH I get the job of all the grooming With momma and Sis in heat the boys had 5 days away at the farm, I think he allowed Syd every dirty grotty thing up there for him to roll in, walk through, must be a guy thing . Thank goodness he did not come home with Cow Poo on him. |
Lisa I tried to get some pics last night. i was trying to part the hair so people can see the white next to his skin. Then it flows into the reddish/brown color. I guess the best thing is Obe doesn't stick.
I'll talk with the groomer today to see about a Sat appt. If I can't get in I may wash him myself. Been a while since I did it myself. |
Darn, no before picture.
He spent too much time unsupervised in the dog yard yesterday......MN.....spring mud......other dogs to play with...... I was at work....Todd was "supervising". Needless to say, he went into town with me and got his whites cleaned. I am much happier. Chewie too, as he got to go out at the Paw and play with the daycare dogs 1st! |
