seems like a lot of food to me. its hard tell if she is overweight without checking her - you know you should be able to feel her ribs when running your hand over her side (it should feel like the back of your hand) |
Quote: running your hand over her side (it should feel like the back of your hand) Well said! Good analogy.
Remember it is better to have a slightly underweight dog than a "fluffy" or "softie" dog. The extra weight puts undue strain on their joints and internal organs. Try cutting back the dry at all feedings by 1/2 cup and just a half can dog food. Also increase the workouts. Sheepdogs are working dogs so building muscle in the rear thighs should be encouraged. |
