In Edgar's defense, he grew up in Phoenix. There are no stairs in Phoenix. Still, we've been living in this two story house now for 4 or 5 months, and it's been kind of funny that there's been upstairs toys and downstairs toys and the two groups never mingled. So, is being staircase-challenged a common trait? |

ha ha ha. That's really funny. We got Barney when he was 5 or 6 months old and his old house didn't have stairs, but our house did. Plus, the first few weeks we had him we kept him downstairs on the tile floor. When he did finally get to attempt the stairs it was hilarious. Going up was okay, but going down took some getting used to. He used to hug the wall and slink down them one at a time.
So, yes, he had stair issues... |
When I placed Maggie the stipulation was she had to do stairs. So the delivery day I crawled up and down the new ower's stairs showing Maggie how it was done. For an older lady dog, she caught on quickly! Alas, her new owner died suddenly a week later and Maggie went to Phoenix where she didn't need stairs any longer. |

As I was reading one of my puppy books on things to introduce to a puppy in his first few days/weeks home, this was the one that stumped me the most. I live in Phoenix and honestly couldn't figure out where I was going to take him to introduce him to stairs. So glad Edgar's discovered how to work the stairs now! |
Ok, I'm just going to swallow my pride and ask the question- why are there no stairs in Phoenix? I don't live in the USA, and I've never heard of this before. Anyone want to enlighten me? |
HAHA. Well if you have a two story house you have stairs. But all of Phoenix is very flat. The most Edgar had was a sidewalk bump to go over. |
That's funny. I was going to ask why there weren't stairs in Phoenix either, lol... |
