New oes.org logo?
oes.org has had the same logo forever (in a couple of different sizes): <center>  </center>
I think it's a little outdated. At one point I considered this one: <center>  </center>
Also, the one at the top of the forum screens is a little plain too, no?: <center>  </center>
A few years ago, an acquaintence did this for me; the artwork was a little crude, but it was only a 5 minute markup: <center>  </center>
I didn't totally hate that one, or something like it. So I've been thinking about a new logo for a long long time. But what should it look like? Just a sheepdog? Naaaaahhhh everybody has just a sheepie... Just Text? BOOOOOooooorrrrriiiiiiiinnnnnnggggg What? What.... WHAT? Well, I've decided. I have no clue. So we need to come up with a way to get a new logo that doesn't cost very much (ok, almost nothing). So before I can decide on a new logo, I have to come up with a way to get a new logo! I thought about a contest; but really... Who is gonna judge it but me? After all if a panel of judges picks something I don't like... do I just have to live with it? And what about a prize for the winner? and how is THAT fair? And what about hurt feelings? So that's why we haven't had a new look or logo in such a looooooooong time. I am open for suggestions!!!! Since the words you chose in blue ink I think Danita's famous blue sheepie painting would look so cool. It's different from all the other sheepies I've seen located on other websites. Of course ,it does depend if she is willing to allow for it, as I realize that this is her business. Could work positively however, as it may be a win win situation. Don't want to put her on the spot by suggesting it but that's my vote. I wouldn't choose pale blue..as it's hard to see but stick with the bold blue for the wording. Marianne |

I agree with Joahaeyo, but with an alternative: an actual picture of one of the OES of a forum member. Ask for submissions of one pic from each member's dog that has been awarded a champion title. Then ask all the members to vote on the choices. As to an animated drawing, its got to show the wiggling and the tongue out with full groomed coat. If the live idea is not an option I'd still vote on # 3. Perhaps one of the members can provide the artwork. George |
| I liked Marianne's suggestion of using Danita's painting.
I also liked your idea of a contest, but changing it a little. What about once a month you choose a member's sheepie and it is spotlighted as the logo. The next month it changes to a different sheepie. Everyone would have a chance to be in the spotlight. I don't know how hard that would be, but a suggestion just the same.

| I vote for using Danita's artwork. But like Marianne says, only if she volunteers it. I like the idea of using community artwork--kinda like keeping it in the family. |

So, would you like something like a cartoon or a painting for the logo? I think that a cartoon would be easier to make it small and big depending of the place....or a cartoon painted with acrylics....mmm.... any ideas? |
