Archie has always been a heavy breather - the vet has never been concerned. Apart from instantly after a bored sigh!

But is this something new for your pup?
Henry is a heavy breather too.....sorry I can't be of any help except to say that our vet was not worried about it. I would be interested too in hearing what others have to say about the heavy breathing :D
Morgan and the newf are heavy breathers at night - I think they would prefer a lower sleeping temperature. However, if it is new, it could indicate they don't feel well.
My Boo is a heavy breather too. My vet did not seem overly concerned about it, but she did check his heart just to be sure. She said that the heavy panting/breathing could be associated with a heart problem. So, I would say to definitely ask your vet about it. Better safe than sorry.
Chiquita is a heavy panter. Sometimes there is just no possible reason for it too. She'll just be panting and breathing really heavy. The vet told us that puppies pant.

Try making sure your dog isn't hot. 50 degrees is hot to our 15 week old. We keep a fan on her and the temp in the house in the 60's.
If you're noticing your pup behaving differently than before, I think you should call your vet. Panting heavily or being extra tired would not really relate to 'growing up'.

Good luck and please let us know how he's doing.
thanks we are due to see the vet in a few weeks so i will wait until then...he has now lightened up a bit so maybe just overly tired i hve no idea? back to eating and biting as usual!! lol...i will keep you posted he did check his heart last visit and said it was good to go? we will see i guess?
Have you had the opportunity to see your vet regarding this? If not, I urge you to please, please, please do so. As it turns out, Boo did indeed have a heart murmur, and it was somewhat hidden by his heavy panting.
When there is heavy breathing going on with mine; usually someone needs to poop. But that is my experience
