Piccys will be viewable once approved, the daft hound seems happy on there - which is good No more chasing him around the room hurting my back and more importantly saving damaging my recent knee operation (yup Archie induced - thinks knees bend the wrong way apparently!) |

Good for you!! Archie looks all settled and very content with his new table--enjoy! |
Archie is a big guy. Like Jack, grooming tables should be a bit bigger for these guys. He is King of the Table there! |
WOW!!!!
Archie sure knows how to make that table look comfortable!!!!! |
Cute pics! Archie does look mighty comfy on that table. I just bought a 48" grooming table but haven't used it yet. Can't wait to try it out. |
One of the best investments you will make for both you & Archie! Looks like he likes it already! |
I love these photos, Archie makes that table look positively tiny.
He looks very handsome and very happy with his new table. By the way how did you get him up there??? |
Those are some VERY cute pictures! |
He looks very comfy and content on his new table!! |
I have a table and hardly ever use it - its too low for me I prefer sitting on the floor
Anyway - lovely pictures. Archie has a very niocely colored coat - looks a lot like my Marley's |
I agree on the table being the best investment ...and I can't believe how much easier it is to brush! |

My friend did that as the regular height tables were too short for him. My problem is always the other way around. I am a vertically challenged person I had to buy a table with adjustable height legs for José because he was too tall standing on the regular grooming table for me to trim! |

You and Cathy and your tiny person tables, LOL. |

If you think that's something, you should see me have to stand on a step stool to bathe him in the tub! What I wouldn't give to be about 6 inches taller! |
Archie looks to be enjoying his new grooming table. Makes life so much easier too and saves the back as well.
Jill the higher the table for us short people the harder it is to lift/assist the lumps up and down. I cant imagine standing there grooming in high heels if the table was higher, does not go with the grooming look of tracky daks and a daggy top. Just brought a new one here after X amount of years with the older one, to cater for my oompa loompa so he can lay down on his side without hanging over. Boy sheepies Now I need a mobile crane to get the lump up and down, I think he is scared of heights, we do paws up and boy of boy getting the rest of him up aint easy. Sheepie girls are way so much easier & neater Even the undercarriage is neat compared to the extra equipment and mis-aims on the opposite sex |

You know I just like to take stabs at you guys for being short. Believe me, there are many things that I wish I was shorter for so it's a very "grass is always greener" situation. |
That table looks great! Sorry to hear about your operation, Ru hasn't got me yet he's usually too busy running away from me instead of towards me
Archie's hair looks so different to Ru's, although I just trimmed his head which looks similar except Ru has his topknot. I think their hair looks the same length? Archie really is massive. Maybe I should be feeding Ru Hobnobs How does Archie cope with the arm? |
I'm sure Archie will love the table once you have managed to get that polar bear off it first.
He looks wonderful! I wish we didn't live surrounded by swampland, or else we would have a fluffy dog too. It just doesn't work in our present location. Best, Lee |
Archie does look very happy on his new table, that will always be the best investment you made.
I don't think you can groom them properly without one, its great when they go to sleep when grooming. |
Early days yet I think
Once I get him up he lies straight down (maybe he is scared of heights? ) - I am not confronting him yet, I am going to give it a week or so just getting him to go up there so that he knows no harm is intended, That is when he doesn't scarper to his cage! I am trying to get him to use a foot stool so that he can step up onto it with confidence. I have only lightly brushed him on there so far. Once he is on he really doesn't seem to want to move! I do have an issue with his coat being very waxy at the moment (I am transitioning diet - or trying to! anyone near want some James Wellbeloved Turkey and rice?), and I think it is his liking for ear wax be that dog cat or human (Yeuck) or just waxy oils in general that is causing his licking of his coat, there is no irritation and it isn't a particular spot, when he does it it is almost like a cat grooming itself! Like I say early days and I can't expect Archie to settle into accepting it straight away. |
Funny you should say your having an issue with Archies coat, like you I'm changing Rosie's food due to a number of things but her coat has gone very greasy/waxy and she's scratching around her ears and neck there's nothing there she's been checked over.
I'm going to try washing her in a coat changing shampoo that should help and wait for the new food to get through. I've gone from Burns to Nutro and if this doesn't work she going on a natural diet. With the table archie could be scared as this is very new to him, I used to have Rosie on the table just for 5mins then extend that over a number of weeks and she was fine. I only have to ask Rosie to get on the grooming table and she's straight up there and will go to sleep there as well even though mine is electric I leave it at the same height as what your would be and she jumps up there fine without hurting herself try putting it up against a wall archie may prefer this rather than have empy sides. |
Cheers for the wall idea.
He had a smallish line grooming session tonight on the one side of his body. I think I will save the wax, and use it on my car He wasn't to bad, at least he doesn't try to jump off it and run away, some times when I get the brushes out he goes in his cage - which has always been treated as his safe zone and we never try to get him out of there. |
