We haven't been to the theater in a while. Maybe it's time to go again. Last thing we saw was Macbeth and the last musical we saw was Les Miserables. Which Lee loved but thought it was going to be awful because of the title. |

"Sit down John Sit down" ... 'Will somebody please open a window"
That line has stuck in my head, along with the tune, since I first saw that film in 1976.....I was a junior in HS... |
Wow that is a long time to have a song stuck in your head. LOL! I liked that song a lot too.
Funny thing about that movie was I started watching it myself while Lee was working. But he couldn't stand it and had to come watch as he was hearing the music and me laughing. Maybe we should just buy the sound track to go with all our other musical sound tracks.... Now I feel so much smarter as I never knew the how the Declaration of Independence was signed. Who would have know that all those men were really into singing. |
I have not seen that in years!!! Now I think I need to go find it and watch it again!! |
I have never seen the movie but I saw it at the theater about ten years ago and we all really loved it.
Then eight years ago my husband Tim and my son Brian were in a community theater production of it. Brian was the young courier who sings the song "Mama look sharp". He has a great voice and to hear him sing such a poignant song was very moving. I saw the show twice but on the other nights my mom and I would drive 40 minutes one way just to hear him sing at the end of the first act. We would come in the back of the theater at a black out, listen to him sing and then leave at the intermission. |
Okay, it's been about a week since we saw this movie and I'm still going around singing "I sing hosanna, hosanna, in a sane and lucid manner." I tell Robin that I need a better musical stuck in my head now. Perhaps it's time to play Fiddler on the Roof again. |
Okay, now I have "If I was a rich man" singing around in my head from just reading your post! |
